Explosive Arrow Marauder (Updated for Release)

With the amount of life, armor, and all resists I have on my build, I never get stunned anyway. I personally value my 2% life over the int and 15 life.

Dont you run out of life with faster attacks linked to EA + berserking?
I'm just 46 lvl now and lose my life pretty fast while firing EA.


Also few details about burning damage:

1) Fire penetration doesn't work with it (http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/229054)
2) Monster's fire resist affect it twice: first when you hit enemy with fire damage, second when applying DoT based on that (already modified) damage.

And that's good, because in this case "fire penetration" affect burn damage (at first step).
Also this makes "elemental equilibrium" absolutely must have.

I completely understand your struggles with reflect. I often times bring a ruby flask with me for when I see a reflect mob. I find it funny to see Explosive Arrow builds using LMP/GMP, because I know that they'll always die to reflect. One of the big reasons for building it like this is to help prevent some of that.

I personally like my build a bit better than yours, (:P) but I've also considered doing something closer to what you have before. I just feel that mine is a bit safer, though it will do a bit less dps.

I agree, there is mother witch EA build that uses LMP with EA and I think it is the worse idea.. The burn DMV with EP is insane more than enough to tale down both single target and packs but more importantly safer against reflect. Great work Pastromy. I just hit 70 in HC with a breeze will be starting maps soon.

What level are you now and what are your stats ? hp/armor/res

Are you the same pastromy that is on nugi and krips stream sometimes ?

I'm level 70 with 80 all resists and 5k life with 7k armor.

What are your thoughts about using weapon elemental damage support? I swapped it in and saw my dps jump from 639 to 1085.

Does elemental damage gem/items even effect EA ? I vaguely remember reading that it doesn't ?

I was able to 5L my bow and picked up a 6L chest, been juggling lots of gems around to find the best combo.

Would you mind checking out my gear and let me know what I should be getting ?




Still have a hard time with single targets, using fire trap/bear trap. What do you recommend ?

What are your thoughts on using Death's Harp for this?

Death's harp sounds interesting, but I'm not a big fan of it's slow attack speed, and having 2x explosions is an easy way to get yourself killed by reflect mobs while not really boosting your burning damage.


Any thoughts on buying a 6L thicket bow and crafting it to +2 to bow gems and +attack speed? Theoretically it should be cheaper than buying/crafting a 6L quillrain, it would only be incredibly dull and time consuming and would probably take a crazy amount of alts to do it. Last I checked, someone was selling a 6L quillrain for around 8 exalts. One exalt of alts is around 12 stacks. So excluding the cost of the 6l thicket bow (which admittedly is going to be a large part of the cost), you have around 1,920 alts to get the combination you need (plus augs of course)
