Quill Rains advantage was its attack speed, however, the fuse timer on explosive arrow resets when you stack again, meaning this speed is meaningless. The fire damage stacks never increase for having additional stacks, it simply adds the base damage. Which means there is no damage advantage for attacking faster, other than getting to 5 stacks, then going afk till they explode.


The damage dealer of Explosive Arrow is not the physical damage that comes with leveling. Every charge added to the stack (up to 5) means it's getting progressively stronger. Let's say his build uses a bow that stacks 1 fuse per second for a 5 second full charge. In this situation, let's say Quill Rain stacks 1 fuse every .2 seconds for a total of 1 second per full charge. The fuse timer resets the EXACT SAME WAY regardless of what weapon you use. Why wouldn't you want to get your charges on faster? The whole point is to get to 5 stacks and let it explode. The faster you stack charges, the faster it explodes.

Hey Pastromy,

I am actually testing out something that my friend suggested. If I manage to get a 5L Quill Rain, this is what I plan to do.

1) Spec out of Blood Magic to get my mana back.

2) Explosive Arrow - Fire Pene - Chance to ignite - Elemental Proliferation - Blood Magic (5L)

3) LA/Split - LMP - LOH - Blood Magic

4) Purity - Haste - Determination - Reduced Mana

5) Grace - Flammbility - Increase Duration - Blood Magic

This way I stack 4 auras with the reserves being on mana which I will never use.I get to respec out of resistance nodes for extra HP as well with Purity added to the mix. Determination also boosts all my armor on top of Grace. What do you think?

This is cool and all, but you're probably not going to need the extra resists seeing as how the initial build doesn't require a ton of crazy linked gear. To be honest, while Haste is nice, the fact you're using Quill Rain already is most likely enough attack speed. Nice job on altering it to make it your own, though.

What do you guys think about a ranged attack totem with ice shot, lmp, and faster attacks as a support?

I just love all the lights coming from the aura and stuff - mainly to hide the fact that my manly marauder is wearing a purple robe (cloak of flames) and not wearing any pants.
I much prefer a decoy totem or a summon skeleton totem.

Do you stop the gems at any lvl? Because Im not sure if you can use the blue ones when they reach a certain level? atleast not with this build.
Is there a limit to how many times I can stack EA on a target?

Should I only be stacking EA 5 times?

'cause it doesn't seem to do more damage when I spend 30~ seconds spamming it on something
