Explosive Arrow Marauder (Updated for Release)

I just tested this and the nodes he gets in the templar starting area which clearly say "increase elemental damage with weapons" I do not believe are any good for this build. It is easy to look at your dmg with a straight phys bow, and one with some ele dmg added and then look at the difference after putting this points in. It is only adding dmg to the bow with ele dmg on the weapon. For an EA/quill build these nodes are doing nothing.

Exactly. It's just quicker to go through them. Also, early game, when you don't have good armor or es, I don't think the body and soul circle is really worth it. But yea, I will be specing out of the catalyze nodes and into body and soul later.

Also, I am completely aware (and state in my first post) exactly what the explosion damage scales off of. In fact, I even state in my first post that it does not scale off of elemental damage with weapons.

Well shit.... I died on my marauder, level 58. But this build is so much fun I have rolled another marau with this build xD

The build is really amazing and I love it. One question though Pastromy - Would you use Hrimnor's Resolve or Geofri's Crest for your head piece? Basically I have a 20% fire damage Hrimnor and I'm wondering if an extra level on Explosive Arrow will do more good (with the passives we have) than a flat 20% fire on Hrimnor's.

Given the choice, I'd go for 20% fire damage, since getting the +1 gems means you sacrifice a 5/6L.

Also, I made one change to the build.


Rather than using Lightning Arrow, I use Split Arrow now.

I use Split Arrow+Chain+LoH+Chance to Flee.

If you don't have any cold or lightning damage on gear, you can run a level 1 wrath to get the necessary damage to proc elemental equilibrium with it. Overall, I really like the change. For one thing, it makes the build a bit safer (since chance to flee=get hit less). It also means the build is a lot less laggy (as split arrow doesn't cause any lag--where LA does).

Seems like getting a 5 or 6L is going to be hard on my quill rain or cloak of flame lol..

Also, i prefer lightning arrow only because it looks prettier =p
I plan on getting a 5L/6L on Quill Rain and using Kaom's Heart.
I posted my current build and an updated endgame build.

There have been some changes.

It turns out, even the damage in the templar tree that I was getting is unnecessary. I updated the build with more armor and life. It's posted in the main page.

I will be updating the leveling progression later.
