Just beautiful, seeing the Katana for the first time was the zenith of hype for me.

While I am crestfallen at the prospect of there being no 1H Katana I am consoled by the rest of the awesomeness.

Now we just need a Samurai armor set *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*

Katanas are traditionally held with 2 hands, in rare cases some used a wakizashi on one hand and a shorter sword in the other. Holding 2 long katanas makes no sense in most situations, and there is no 1 handed style like fencing as far as i know.
Shouldn't the one handed axe's "increased physical damage" be a local modifier?

two facts - difference between thickets and the rest was quite small and was in place ONLY because aura/flat ele builds were popular (hint: that was a long time ago in a completely different meta). thicket with similar rolls was at most 15% better than second 'best' (aspd difference). second - you are talking about situation when pretty much noone played bows and bows were yet to receive a series of serious buffs (nodes, base etc)

currently one can have a garbege-rolled harb and be good. crit/crit multi will make up for the difference. all what is needed it lucky alt/aug/regal + multimod == endgame bow. there are 100's of these on poe.trade

difference between bow bases is enormous, unhealthy and if anyone thinks it is a good thing.. well.. ok.

btw 350pdps thicket sells for ~5ex. similar pdps Harb for 50ex. coincidence? or maybe thats the difference? and you can get spine bow 350pdps for 3ex. no takers.

no the difference was not quite small, thickets and imperials were literally the only bows being used in the game, to a far greater extent than the current harbinger/decimation bow thing.

in place only because of the ele meta? What, as opposed to harbingers being the business because of the current crit meta? no difference in the relative circumstances. no one played bows back then? Bows with chain lightning arrow or rain of arrows were some of the most popular options in the entire game. Lioneyes was one of the most desired uniques in the entire game when thickets and imperials were the rage.

A wider variety of bows are being used now than back then, if you cant see that then more fool you tbh mate.

poe.xyz..

373 pdps harbinger for 20ex

371 thicket for 5ex

so the difference is less than half of what you just stated.

Bows did die for a long time in between, and when the harbinger change came it was the best thing to ever happen to bows and now more bow bases are viable and being used than ever before. all your doom talk is completely detached from the reality of the game, short sighted and irrelevant.

so duel wielding foils is a thing in real life? using foils in actual combat at all is a thing? People actually did dual wield with blades like this as youve said, which is a few steps closer to reality than current dual wield sword builds in the game.
<3 Dagger axe. It will make two-handed melee builds viable.
4% block on Dagger ? this is joke...
Start playing in Feb 9, 2013
My KineticBlast LL ML 400kDPS GMP /view-thread/1466693
Asus LGA1155 P8P67 / Intel Core i5-2500@4GHz / Corsair Vengeance 16GB@1600MHz
Asus GTX970 STRIX 4GB / Asus ROG Xonar Phoebus 7.1
Acer 27 IPS 2560x1440@144Hz [XF270HU] + BenQ 24 TN-film 1920x1080@120Hz [XL2420T]
does global defens means ressistance cap? since close range melee builds usually suffer from massive problems when receiving elemental damage(and mana cost)

Believe it or not small blades make some of the best blocking weapons. You dont wait until someone is swinging with their weapon and place it in front of it(you dodge those), you proactively lock their weapon back. And best of all the small blade is ideal in close up combat for sliding it inbetween pieces of armor.

Big swords and maces are phallic symbols for royalty. Not well suited to actual combat. The short sword is king of melee.
