About its use, I doubt I would consider 200 ES useful, would rather use it for a HP stack build that cannot afford to reach Blood Magic. 20% reduced can be completely negated with about 3 passive points.

Basically, if reaching Blood magic costs way more than 3 skill point, use this


this one is mine, and yes I didn't intend for it to be great for an ES build but rather a high life build. before they moved blood magic in the passive tree from the middle we saw a few witch/shadow builds that used it fairly well, I wanted to bring access to that back. It may be a niche item, but that's what it was designed to be.

Dual wielding the new unique scepter could be an option for a very good bonus ;)

In regards to weak uniques, does anyone else feel Doedre's Tenture... is kind of lame?

I think the unique would be better served with some crazy stats - like -50% or -100% cast speed, but adds a lot more spell damage (like 50-60%) and adds some other cool effects to your spells (increased spell projectile speed, or massively increased area of effect, or "gems socketed into this item are supported by level 10 X, Y, and Z).

Right now it's boring - and a bit perplexing. I mean, 40% spell damage isn't really worth 20% cast speed with most spells and really hurts spells which don't do damage but require good cast speed (like a curse/debuff or buff).

These have only 40% dmg increase total , i have better blue,rare scepter on lvl 41
the scepter has 40% elemental boost EACH but nearly double physical plus some attack speed. that'll translate far vial glacial hammer, lightning strike, or infernal blow.
Maybe for those 3 skills that unique makes sense but i said for lightning caster , using Arc specifically. Fire and Cold have staves , fire has chest unique , cold has helm , lightning got nothing so far, thats what i meant :)

The chestpiece has Fire DEFENSE. It does absolutely nothing to improve fire spells.
