[1.3.x] Kungfooe's [Bloodlines] IronWill Glacial Cascade -- 7.7k Life + 10%+ Regen

Hey, I wanted to add in that this looks like a really cool build! I am thinking about trying this out for a next character, as a frost caster would be very different from the builds I have done so far :). One quick question: I randomly had a Taryn's shiver drop for me a bit ago (also part of the reason I'm interested in trying out cold!). It looks decent, but will it be very outclassed by the doon?

This is a really great question. I think the ideal off-hand will depend a little bit on your play style. I really enjoy face-tanking (maybe a little too much?) and so I opted for a high armor + life shield with crafted cast speed. If you're looking for more of a damage boost, Rathpith or a rare spell damage and cast speed shield are definitely a good choices. The downside is with no EB, any ES on gear does not end up serving much of a purpose. It may also be worth considering dual wielding, but I am not sure how the tankiness will feel in doing so, and have not currently tested it.

I have thought about getting some of the shield defense nodes, but the current challenge is that the build is pretty tight on points until around level 90. I am not sure where the points might be best spent after that, and shield nodes are definitely worth considering.

I haven't tested anything with Taryn's Shiver, so I'm not sure if it would be better. I do know that Doon is definitely a strong choice, but I also only was considering one-handed weapons when making this decision. As I don't have a Taryn's, I'd be curious to know how you thought the two compared. Additionally, if you do go two-handed it may be worth making some adjustments to the tree so you can get the staff block nodes too.

10 minutes for clearing a map is very slow. It is a really nice build in terms of survivability, but with this dps, it s only good to farm 70-72 maps.

how do you deal with the mana cost?

Super interesting build! I'm making a new Marauder just to try this out. Only thing I need are those boots and astrainments. I'm just gonna go glacial cascade the whole way, currently lvl 23.
