Suggestion : XP GAIN/LOSS || OFF / ON SWITCH

LSN you hit the nail on the head. At the higher levels, that "0% xp time" is very few and far between. Very nice suggestion on being limited to players level 93+.

This isn't for low level people, this idea was NEVER for low level people. I only went through the questing system once, and that was for my 1 character, so I can't really make ANY suggestions in regards to Low Levels. But when it comes to mapping, and levels 75+, I believe I have a little more expertise.

No, it is you who isn't reading what I'm saying simply because you don't like how it'll work.

As I said, even if it is a one time thing like loot allocation, it defeats the purpose of having mods that are meant to be hard. Those mods are meant to give players a difficult time, and by giving them a difficult time a threat to them. That threat is losing experience. Remove that and those mods have no value.

And again, why would someone waste time playing a map they'd die in anyways, when they can play a map they'll gain experience in? You'll have plenty of time to test on hard maps when you're level 100.

It doesn't defeat the purpose of having hard mods. Why would someone waste time playing a map they'd die in anyway? Because its fun? Because its a challenge. But the challenge isn't worth the Risk in XP upon death.

Yes, the perk about getting to 100 is I can enjoy every map and don't have to worry about dying. Do you know how easy it is to get to 100? I hit 100 like 2 months ago, and am ranked 83rd in the world. I think according to the ladder, only about 140 level 100's exist. And I know one or 2 people who don't want to get to 100, so they stop at 98. So your saying they will never have the chance to experience a fun RIP map without having the penalty of losing 10%?

I still care if I die, I really don't want to die. But you see, if a player is level 98, and they just keep farming maps using this switch, they well get loot, but at the end of the day, they will always be 98. So its a balancing act between Gain and Risk as you level. Which adds another dimension I would think.

You think people will be satisfied if they do a crazy Rip map and die 5 times buy completed it? I think those people would try again and again to complete that map without dying, and there for allowing you to gain xp.

Yes I see how this is abuseable while progressing on lower levels.

Tho, as the OP said, when you are at level 98,5 and want to run something like atziri or uber or a hard mod map you simply can/should not if you wanna continue to progress and do it reasonably. This limits high level charackters alot and only actually allows them to do stuff like this when being freshly leveled. This is a bit of a problem as levels can take quite a while up there. On the other hand every charackter that freshly leveled anyway got this feature for free.

So another restriction should be that you can only enable this from level 93/95+ and maybe activating it should cost 3-10 chaos orbs or smth. like that.

Well if it disables XP and loot then I don't see why it should cost you currency; you're paying both experience and drops, and sometimes drops can be a Mirror of Kalandra.

So skipping the chance of a good drop is more than sufficient, at least in my eyes.
I don't really get why people are complaining about the concept of someone turning off xp and doing an entire map, in effect, just for drops. How could that possibly be bad for the game? It's no different to a squishy MF character doing dominus runs over and over (and dying on occasion, sufficient to not level). It's also no different to that level 99 guy who doesn't intend to level coming into your map at the last minute and going kamikaze on palace dominus.

In fact, in the style of the Batman games, I'd even be all for a combat simulator that allowed one to try all the boss fights, unlocking each new boss as the last one was defeated. It would be entirely a matter of choice to use such a system, and choosing to use it would be realistically no different to asking your friend to walk you through the first time you fight a boss.
Because it removes any challenge, deprecates skill and knowledge and basically rewards people loot for being bad. It's almost like one of those "resurrect back into HC" suggestions.

Because.
A player.
Who got a character to over lvl. 80.
Is a bad player without any knowledge of the game.

My first characters didn't get over level 40.
Those sucked.

Now, my "main" is level 83.
He doesn't suck.
I don't suck anymore at this game.
Again, as stated above, in how far would this be any different to being a squishy MF at level 90, 0%, just corpsewalking and using death as a free TP to offload 6 inventories of loot on Zana?
We are going to shut down Beyond immigration into our maps until we find out what the Hell is going on!
Feel free to RIP to 0% of your level, i never said i was against that.
In how far is that not "reward[ing] people loot for being bad"?

In however far they were into their level when they started. If that was 0 they were smart and tactical about it which i can respect at least a tiny bit. And they cant cherry pick which fights they want to avoid losing xp on. MF is a horrible example btw, barely anyone chooses to stagnate and still play a char. MFers have unique reasons to do so.

Don't even get me started on how pointless HC is in a game like this. Especially where the biggest perk of hitting the Max level is to Play loose and fun all the time. If you 100 In hc... wtf is the difference? its just a number.. you can't do more things, maybe you would actually do LESS things because you don't want to risk a level 100 character.

This is actually a very cool idea, and I'm very happy to tell you that this will be incorporated very soon. Although not with the current bosses, there will be a future map where you are in an arena fighting all the grandmaster donators characters for on and on and on.

I don't get it Netharious... are you against the idea completely? or are you for the idea and want to develop the idea further?

Now it seems that if there isn't drops or xp you would be totally fine with it.

And maybe that could be the case. 1 level 100, and 2 level 98.5 characters doing vaal temple map. The level 98.5's turn theyre xp and drop ALLOCATION off, and the level 100 get allocated all the loot. so the good friends will distribute afterwards. This would be a goood compromise.

Wow for the 2 years I've played this game, I never understood how to quote a previous post on the same thread. I always thought the 2 options under a persons name were PM and a Magnifying Glass (View Profile)

But the magnifying glass is a Q for Quote. Why would they say Q and not " " or something
