[1.3][WIP] Kinetic Blast + AA + EB + Vaal Pact - Leveling Progression + Crafting + Videos

At the moment I am keeping Kinetic Blast low level just in case it starts to get mana hungry at higher levels, I still don't have the right colours on my chest armour to test the proper set-up. I'm still testing the skill with different gems, faster attacks seems good, but if I ended up using that the mana/s cost would go up.

So yeah, until I know the level scaling of KB I don't want to level it too high, can't seem to find any high level data for it, this only goes up to level 4 as well: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Kinetic_Blast

You want to have a high attack per second base wand (1.3+), otherwise it just feels too slow. I would say that the Crystal Wand is the best, but you want to find one with crit chance on it, the crit chance is more important than physical damage at early levels.

I have just crafted a few Imbued Wands, one using the technique I listed in the first post about crafting wands:


It took me about 30-50 alterations, about 20 augment orbs, now I just have to find a Regal. I used 1 granite flask to roll the "Razor Sharp" one from "Annealed" and got luck on the augment, high added physical damage is better than %physical damage because Tora can only add 13-20, whereas tier 2 added phys is 22-38.

What about single target skill? Maybe Frenzy would be ok?
I was thinking about doing combos:

Your KB combo (5 or 6L)

HoT + CoH + Assassin's Mark + Reduced Mana
Lightning Warp + Faster Casting + Reduced Duration
HoI + Clarity + Wrath + Reduced Mana
Frenzy + Lightning Penetration (?) + Increased Crit Damage (+WeD?)

and there's a place in Shield/Wand for 3 gems combo. I thought about some Vaal Skill, maybe:
Vaal Power Siphon + Lightning Penetration + Echo or something like that.

What you think?

Hey Pure, yeah I am still sorting out what is the best single target, it either needs PCoC or to be power siphon for charge generation, I find PCoC to be better for maintaining charges in group play.

I do think frenzy would be a better single target yes, I will have to find one to test, still working out what the best 5L is for KB as well, haven't found a conc effect gem, I think the library quest has one though, I also need a Wrath gem.

Level 70: 3.1k life, 1.6k on KB and 2.8k on Frenzy, which is much better for damage, but not as good as Barrage for gaining power charges, as Barrage hits multiple times per crit, meaning the percentage chance to gain a power charge with PCoC is rolled multiple times.

Level 73: 3.3k life, 4.7k on KB and 3.6k on Frenzy, still prefer barrage for Power Charge generation in party, may end up using blood rage for Frenzy Charges and Power Siphon as single target.

175 mana regen/s - using a level 14 Arctic Armour, don't want to level it any higher yet, as Inner Force will increased the mana drain.

Tested Concentrated effect in a map, didn't like the reduction in AoE clear ability, the 50% more damage was equivalent to what the Increased Crit Damage gem gives me at the moment, taking my crit multi from 200% to 300% (50% more crit damage). I did some more testing and it feels like Conc Effect is ok with this set up: KB + Faster Attacks + LMP + Conc + WeD, without faster attacks the spread of the explosions just doesn't feel enough.

Still need to regal my chest, made a better wand though with the method shown in the OP.

Hey man, I've been looking at your build as I'm planning a kinetic blaster myself.
I've noticed you're increasing both elemental and phys damage, and it is not the most optimal for what you built.
Kinetic blast is pure phys dmg, so is the wand used (or almost pure). Then you add auras that gives flat elemental dmg, and increase a bit of both with your support gems.
As there's very few phys to elemental damage conversion in your build, it means the efficiency of specific damage nodes are about halved.

The better ways to build this guy would be, imo :
-go all out attack speed, elemental dmg and flat auras.
-go only physical, and physical conversion auras, passives and support.

You can add crit to either of them, but then you have to mainly invest in crits and only a bit in ele or phys.
Projectile/wand damage applies to both ele and phys, so those are ok.

Try pierce and projectile weakness curse, maybe it'll change your mind about supports too. Should be better than chain in most cases.
Frost wall is a surprisingly good ally vs single target. Pop one on the guy and all your projectiles will proc on the wall. I'm thinking about trying it with cwdt + increased duration + immortal call...

Thanks for you suggestions Cynry, I started this build without knowing much if anything about the skill and I am enjoying the learning process as I go, I have decided to keep it hybrid still, as it means I can use both the Phys Attack Project and the Weapon Elemental Damage support gems together to scale both.

EDIT: Oh, I'm not using Chain anymore, it procs more explosions but reduces damage quite a bit. It could get used on reflect maps to reduced the reflected damage.

It may not be the best, but I like to set myself a challenge.

I will have to remember that Frost Wall Trick, I still haven't gotten a CwDT setup going yet, but I have noticed that if you pin a Rare/Boss against a wall and KB into that wall they take a lot more damage.

The way I see my builds damage scaling at the moment is this:

> Hatred + Herald of Ash for phys damage added as elemental (15% fire and 36% cold, then buffed by Inner Force/Aura nodes)
> Herald of Thunder for cursing and lightning damage (prior to getting Tempest Blast)
> The passive tree gets 10% physical damage added as Cold/Fire and 30% of physical added as lightning.
> Physical Proj Damage gives 49% more base phys that then in turn increases the elemental damage
> Weapon Elemental which gives 59% more Elemental Damage to all the damage added by Phys
> I may end up using Faster Attacks in the 5 and 6L setup, unless 3 Frenzy Charges feels enough.
> I also like the benefit of physical life/mana leech, but also like auras and attack speed, so it's a bit of a balance.


We will have to see, I will probably make my decisions on this build around level 85-90.
