I admire your persistence I also still have everything and pretty much agree with you, though I wouldn't use the same language you're using...however I get a good laugh at your responses (most of them, some are little overboard). That is all :) keep up the good fight? maybe? I don't know :) |

My account just got hacked 2 hours ago... I was playing and got kicked out of game. after I logged back in, everything of value was removed from my stash and characters...
all orbs, all gems of quality or rarity and all items that had the small chance of being good :( I don't want to say I was very rich and everything, but losing everything you farmed and found hard just kills the fun in an instant. I know there is no chance in ever getting my losses back, but is it impossible to track back with which account or character my account traded or was in a party (if that happened)? Just checked my computer - no malware. And besides that I know how to secure a computer (don't feed the troll above)... no idea how my password got lost the sucker that got my stuff now. I also got hacked last night. Only time I ever entered my password was the first time I logged on. I was browsing sites looking for builds, get a virus warning from Malwarebytes, litteraly cleared the virus immediately but it only took it 30 seconds to find whatever file my password was stored in. I get D.Ced and can't log in, after getting my password changed I log in to find all my gems with + quality, and all my good gear gone as well as ALL my orbs gone. All in a matter of about 3 minutes. Funny thing is I was moved from act 3 merc to act 1 normal and I was surrounded by a ton of high level players that were all naked so this seemed to be a very common thing. Please change how the password is stored so that this can't happen.

" Hey, I have no problem with someone saying "I checked my computer and found no malware, I have no idea how they got my password", it's when people start saying junk like "GGG, this issue seems to stem from a db security issue from client server side connection, it's all your fault" bullshit I act like a dick. |

" Actually we don't know whose fault it is right now, or did I miss something? Is it clear yet in which way the accounts get compromised? So maybe it's a db issue, maybe it's a user issue or maybe the hacker is just a f***ing genius ;) |

Well I wasn't browsing on a site for builds and neither got a virus warning. when checking my computer there was no sign of a virus at all, so how excactly did it happen then?

" You have to keep in mind that not all viruses have definitions, if it's fairly new, what ever you are using to detect it might not be able to. I think it's more likely that you got phished though, there have been a few links around the forums that I've seen. There was a www.pathofexil.com one that I saw last week. |

It does not mean you did not click on some malicious link somewhere. Even if if it's not another site, and it's the PoE boards, there still can be some post with bad links. And you did not get a warning because it's possible your AV does not know about the virus/malware/exploit/etc. that gets your computer infected. Even Malwarebites that saw the threat did not prevent it fast enough.
Also am i the only one that sees a pattern here. Reports stopped for a week and now they are back. The attacker is either smart or cautious or just waited for a week to get plenty of accounts and passwords and is now doing some stash clearings get some good stuff and sell them. |
