Hi
I want crossbows, they would be str/dex hyrbid weapon and be 1h and 2h variants. The crossbow would fire slower then normal bow and have implicit chance to pierce. cheers Conan: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.

I don't get it, if at all, a crossbow would need less strength than a bow, because it has mechanical levers and stuff to help you load it.

|
And it would also take like 5 seconds between shots to reload. 0.2 APS sounds so amazing...

Crossbows are designed to require almost no physical strength to reload. And to have almost no required skill to use. That was the whole point of the weapon (aside form the fact that metal bolts could pierce armor and arrows couldn't).
Technically speaking PoE could have "repeating" crossbows. But at that point might as well have guns. IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir

" I'm not sold on 1h variants...unless you're not allowed to dual wield and can use a shield on your offhand. " Slower, but with a high chance to pierce (maybe also added knockback) and more physical damage to balance it out it could be viable. " Check out the pic I found online I've posted above, that crossbow is magazine fed. Seeing as how this game has some elements of electromechanics and steampunk in it, I could also see a mag fed crossbow running pretty quick. Last edited by AlfaTangOh#2678 on Aug 11, 2014, 7:32:35 AM

"Still requires two hands to reload between every shot. Notice teh crank. That thing doesnt arm itself it just puts the bolt in place automatically. IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir Last edited by Autocthon#5515 on Aug 11, 2014, 8:12:35 AM

" I agree that crossbows should be 2H. Crank noted - but cranking that would probably be as fast as nocking a new arrow with a bow. |
