Your Forsaken Masters Questions, Answered!

Actually it's me who got the orb names backwards. I should have said I farm 60-100 alts per hour. You got the sequence correct.
Hi. I made my own build for my first character and it took a lot of learning of the game to perfect everything from the optimal skill gems and supports to passive nodes and gear.

I think i have spent 800 hours on this character. It's a bit of a glass cannon with as much ES as I can get, and an alt-swapped shield for when the situation requires more defense.

I'm concerned since I don't use any weapon attacks, and I'll explain why:

I'm currently using Infernal Mantle and dual wielding either (2) high spell crit, spell damage platinum kris daggers or 2 Divinarius Imperial Skeans. On the alt weapon swap I use a similar dagger with a shield.

My build is Firestorm focused, it relies on huge AoE to curse and global/spell crit ice to freeze enemies.

I have about 395 Int, 130 dex with gear and only 14 Str

It's almost exclusively ES, but I use life and chaos resist for chaos damage

My concern is talk in Global Chat about "general crit chance" being nerfed/removed and being applied to specific weapons instead.

General/global crit chance is pretty much my entire build since i don't do any physical attacks.

I feel as if I'm being griefed out of the game

You can see in my level 100 tree plan (I'm about to hit level 87):

The nodes near the 'Shadow' starting area, in particular, has several key general crit chance nodes that are important for my build. I searched for a couple of hours but haven't come across any leaked reveals of the new tree.

Might as well say: I think "Increased Critical Strikes" gem is severely underpowered in contrast to some of the other support gems, which can be as powerful as 10 passive nodes at 20/20%. Maybe the 'mana multiplier' could be increased in exchange for improving the crit chance in a patch.

I will hope for the best. Maybe my concern is unwarranted and you've added more spell crit nodes to the tree. By the way, my crit chance is about 30-40% which isn't that great to begin with - so if you just remove them, my build is dead.
I will rip the eyes from your head with glee

I think it's unlikely the global crit chance would be nerfed. This function has been pretty carefully tuned over many patches to its current value, and is a hugely basic foundation for large numbers of builds. If GGG were to do something about CoC builds (which is what most of the fuss is about) it's far more likely they would affect the CoC mechanic directly, rather than the underlying crit chance. I'd say your build is safe.
these new missions, will they be designed only for solo gameplay or is it possible to take on missions in groups ? i'm guessing that depending on each character's build, some missions may not be possible to finish by all builds, ppl who play mf or support may not have enough dmg or def to achieve certain tasks. just sayin'.

In DAOC we had group pvp mission (RVR realm vs. realm, w/3 diff realms or factions going at in PVP) and even a realm (faction) pvp mission that could be accomplished together in pvp (daoc calls it rvr).

Certain builds won't be able to accomplish this solo which is okay, the more that you dumb things down (think Diablo 3) the more it becomes unappealing to the "base" or "core" players.

I'm new to poe and i'd like to ask you this dumb question... If i play Hardcore right now, will my currencies and gems that I have accumulated till today still be there if I create a new hardcore character when Forsaken Masters will be live? Or there will be a total hardcore reset?

Any plans for the new trading system to make it into the expansion? Is there even going to be a new trading system, or was that scrapped?
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

There will not be a new Trading System in this upcoming expansion. The last piece of news we heard on this from Chris was back in January. Thus, development could still very well be underway.

Firstly, my apologies if this is the incorrect area to post a question in.

Secondly, my wife and I were playing POE this evening (as a team) and we encountered a Master. We both decided to take on the quest (bring back a soul). We both went into the dungeon, we fought and killed the boss - we got out of the dungeon with the soul. My wife got point for the return - I did not.

It does state that the task is complete on my list, but... when we went back to Lioneye's Watch - she had the Master in town - I did not.

So, do I have to solo encounter (not teamed with my wife) in order to get the Master or was there something that I did incorrectly that caused this situation?

Thanks!
