They won't be disappearing, but they will become less common.

I'm going with Karui NPC questgiver.

He looks like a Karui. He doesn't look like he's in a fighting stance.
So I think he's an npc.

we are going to help all the lore NPC's individually on 7 new quests araound the 3 acts. and to finish we will fight the 7 heroes on an altar like the ancients quest on diablo 2. that would rock hard.

Erqui is obviously being teletransported, appearing to you when you have finished the quest, to give you a reward and tell you some lore story.

i could not avoid thinking on tristram and the rescue of deckard cain on d2 when i saw the cage next to the npc ;)

Honestly its probably Kaom... or a former shadow of who he was... playing the lore and reading the stones... you hear about koam descending into the darkness never to return... you ask the question... WTF happened to Kaom... I mean he was trying to figure out why the Land of Wraeclast turned against the people why the dead come back to life and what not... these are all the question marks the story/lore leaves you... if its not Kaom its a quest maybe to put his soul to rest...food for thought

It's the Skewer of Krinitz with Resolute Technique and 4% mana leech. The area is Griswold's Ledge and the NPC is Walleye.
