Announcing the One-Month Leagues (and Ambush/Invasion Challenge Winners)

I bet that the 'envisioned' invasion was the 'fixed' version people got halfway the league - that was actually very fun but still more than challenging in maps.

original invasion was 'evasion' league and pretty much anyone that have played it attest. dmg numbers were simply stupid. anyone that 'enjoyed' playing it was very good at running away and logging out as these were the only ways of handling some invaders, esp before getting uber gear.

no skill could have saved anyone from totem guy offscreening a player in his 40s with no +max resist and pitfull life pool. only the magic of alt-f4

as long as logout/alt-f4 exist calling poe 'hardcore' is a joke

Its funny you mention the living pyre since I just saw him burn my buddy to a crisp a couple days before invasion ended. Getting offscreened by invisible flameblasts is still an issue and was not fixed in any nerf. They just changed the appearance, damage and defenses of the invaders. For instance, the EK spiders EK is roughly 50% the length it used to be.

I played invasion from day one till now since it was all I knew, I played only the last month of nemesis, and it was great. I thought original invasion was incredible.

Personally that first fight vs the mother of the swarm as you entered the coast at level 1 set the tone for a great great league.

Yes, alt-f4 is very present, but if you look at the people who stream this game I'd say only about 2/5 people I watch has a QQ macro, many others have a macro for /oos which seems reasonable.

I'm pretty sure the envisioned invasion was the original invasion, considering they nerfed most invaders into the ground and then stated that the concept wasn't going to be added into the game.

Yes, original invasion was not fair, yes original invasion had monsters that were nearly uncounterable at the time because the gear didn't exist, but that's what a hardcore league is, by GGGs own definition.

Many nerfs in invasion were needed, but then there were others that came simply because of whining. The worst part is that much of the whining was about overlapping spells and monster spell effects (which they fixed very well imo).

Yet they turned one of the most challenging leagues into a joke, where exiles were feared more and they had to hotfix those.

People are saying that invasion + something is going to be a challange, no its not. The only challanging days here are going to the ones with ambush, and even then you'll have to decide yourself whether you want to take the challange on.

was so ready to come back and play hard in this 1 month, really disappointed and probably wont be playing

yes..; But do you have an idea of the mess it will be with Neme+Onslaugh+Invasion in the last 4 days ?

onslaught was almost unnoticeable in the 4 month, invasion is nerfed but still a challenge and nemesises only hard mods were volatile mods, so i dont see it being that crazy

nothing about the difficulty would change my mind on if i want to play hardcore, ive always said i want a long lethal or blamt league lol

The mess for all, ggg have to make the choice for everybody, and OSxNemxInva will be a nice massacre. Btw too bad there is no little price for top 500 or 1000. Because in the last days this could end up in a "hardcore SC" for top ranked.

I like the blamt too, but just think about BLAMT Brutus btw... At some point is become ridiculous and desync luck based -_-

As an Onslaught, Nemesis, and Invasion only player, I am dissapointed that this is only a standard challenge league. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I only get the sense of urgency, and real accomplishment from beating maps/bosses when I am playing HC. Some get that sense in standard/standard challenge leagues for other reasons, that's fine, but for me and a lot of other people the league would just feel... unexciting.

If GGG could just clone this league and make a HC version as well they would make a lot of people happy. Even if it didn't have the prizes, while they are neat, the reward for being able to play a HC version of this league would be enough.

I'll just revisit in ~40 days, I have plenty of other games I'll enjoy. I hope GGG is not counting on all HC-only players coming back for the four-month, because I am sure a portion of this player base will not return. Even the ones that do return, GGG will be missing out on micro-transaction revenue from that player base during this one-month.

This doesn't even make business sense, GGG.

on the other hand SC players that would have left for month due to this being a HC-only event like all races and most long term events are here. i bet that SC playerbase > HC playerbase and by a large margin. so as you put it - cattering to minority and ignoring majority (like all races being HC, charity race being HC) might not be the wisest biz strategy so im not surprised they went this way. probably they had to select HC or SC and decided the lesser evil. or the testing they plan on doing is impossible in pseudo-HC environment (HC games dont have chicken out mechanics)

You must of misinterpreted me, I am asking for/suggesting that there be one standard league, and one HC league both with the exact same mods. Everyone would be satisfied, no?
[Removed by Support] What you can do while this one month no-hc league is running is ask yourself; what does hardcore mean?

I'm sure it means different things to different people, but why does that even matter? I and many others (a large minority of the playber base as it should be put), are being told by GGG, and now some of the standard player base that our reasons for playing HC only are invalid, and that I should enjoy a standard challenge league. That doesn't make sense at all.

I think it is in everyone's best interest that the standard player base, HC player base both be catered too. I don't want to argue with others about why HC is better, or vice versa because it is not. Standard is better for a majority of the player base, and HC is better for a large minority of the player base.

And in so doing we get a delay on the 4 month leagues. No thanks. I take 1 SC league over a SC and HC league anyday if it speeds up the work on the 4 month leagues.
Man i was prepped for this thing and its non-hc.

Just Want to know why is just a scrubcore based event. sorta takes out the fun and thrill if we can die over and . . over and . . . . over . . . . . . . . .
