[1.2.0] "Forcefield" - Flameblast - EB/MoM/Block - Atziri & Endgame Viable!

Thanks for this build! Level 53 now, just put on Cloak of Defiance and Rainbowstrides :) One thing for everyone considering this though: You're going to spam chroms on the cloak to get the right colors (for me around 250, so that's about an exalt of value). So if you buy the cloak and can find one with the right colors for an exalt more, it's probably worth taking.

Still this build seems not too expensive for something as tanky and endgame-viable. Great job!

How do you feel about the "Quickness" passive node? For 2 points you get 5% move speed and 20 dex. Would be badly invested for any other build, but maybe on this one any move speed is more valuable?
And have you tried q20 Arctic Armour?
Sorry if any of this was discussed before, I haven't yet read through the thread :)

Movement speed is nice but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. Could be worth it since you also get dexterity but it's hard to spare the points for it.

I actually ended up using GCP on my Arctic Armour instead of doing the 20% quality vendor recipe. Gotta go fast :)

You still really only need a good quicksilver and the flask nodes. I'm running faster than people who aren't using the anvil so movement speed isn't a problem.

Hey, wouldn't The Vertex mask be a really good option for this build?
The lack of life would be compensated with the 300+ ES, +1 level to gems for the flammability, empower, enhance, faster casting combo if you have level 3 empower and enhance (or for AA), and then some chaos resist on top of that.

It's hard to drop two resist rolls and a life roll but it would definitely be a viable option for the build. A more offensive option, maybe something you would do on rampage/standard.

I've seen people use Asenath's Mark and Chitus' Apex with this build so it should be possible to use The Vertex as well.
Currently 74 going fairly smoothly on beyond. Only issue I have is dealing with any of the degen mobs like the flicker beyond guys. In 1 player life it's not too big of a deal since they die pretty quickly, but with more people it gets a bit annoying. What do you do vs them or do you just have to pot until they die?

It's as you say, in solo play it's easy to stop their damage with just the chaos res nodes + one chaos res item and all the other defenses in the build but I understand that if they survive longer in groups it might become more of a problem.

Between maps I like to search for more chaos resist items and all my spare alts go into trying to craft my own chaos res helmet. If I don't suffer that much from the degen with only one chaos resist item it really shouldn't be a problem once you have 2 or 3.

Have you picked up the chaos resist & life nodes outside the templar starting area? Other than picking them up try to find a way to get more chaos resist on your gear!
Yea, I decided when leveling that I would just keep on picking up defensive nodes until my damage doesn't feel strong enough. I'm on my way toward the block nodes under templar to cap my block while I haven't taken any of the breath of flames/heart of flame nodes. I might drop some of my hp nodes to get those if my damage starts feeling lacking.

I think I might try to slot in a decoy totem for when the pesky chaos sword dudes spawn until I feel safer against them. Other than those guys everything's been going good and easily stomping through 70 maps.
Build is very tanky, almost every map doable. Thanks for sharing it with us

but i changed it a bit.I took +1 curse , instead of witch aeo nodes.I think its better dual curses are really op

here my passive tree plan

I'm actually thinking about doing this, not sure what I want to drop for it. Might just end up taking them as my last points as I push for level 100. Won't need the AoE for Atziri at least and a second curse would help immensely.
Great build and it feels so much better with the new tree.

This was true before 1.2 but with Vociri it's not that hard anymore, just spam a few "at least one red socket" craftings.
Hi there,

First of all, great guide! Very well written and overall the most powerful char i ever played (kinda casual)

Just rerolled my lvl 86 witch, that was a summoner before. Put all my currency in the required gear, 6L a CoD myself (pretty lucky at that) and now I´m impressed by the toon. Kinda reminds me of my old BM spectres (good times..)

Now my question is:

What does spell echo do for flameblast. I kinda see no effect in my 6L. BTW Off Colouring CoD is a pain, i stopped at RBBBBB (conc. effect)

thanks!

Edit: Sorry got that, you reach your max charge up faster :p
