Dominus farming guide | Solo | Multi client | Tips & Tricks
 Intro/About me: Hi my name is ImHexx and I'm an experienced dominus farmer with 2000+ dominus runs. I'll try to explain everything I know about magicfinding in general. I'm from belgium so my english isn't the best please excuse me for any mistakes. I want to make a detailed guide so please give me some time to finish this. Dominus farming?
Dominus is a boss located at the upper sceptre of god and is the final boss of act III. - The idea is to set up a portal with your 'culler client' at the stairs to 'The upper Sceptre of God' this portal is generally referred to as 'the anchor', this portal should technically never expire if you're running fast enough. - Then you create a 'new instance' by ctrl-clicking the stairs. - You have to ascend three stairs on your way to dominus: - For the first 2 floors the stairs are always in one of the corners - For the last floor run to the middle (where the scion is trapped) and then go up. floor 1 example floor 2 example floor 3 example - Then you get roof of the tower, here you have to place a portal, then proceed to kill the 6 mini-bosses, they should be pretty easy. - After they are dead you have to kill dominus he uses a lightning ability which can kill your character pretty quick if you don't have much life/resists, i recommend using a topaz flask here. Also be carefull of his 'touch of god' because that hurts really bad, luckily it's pretty easy to dodge. -When dominus get's to his 2nd phase he will teleport to the south-east corner, REALLY IMPORTANT: if you're using dual client you have to bring your 2nd client in the portal you placed earlier to 'tag' dominus with 2-player hp, when you can see his hp bar you can tp your client back to town. - When dominus get's to <10% hp you stop dps and you bring your 2nd client back in for the cull. - GL :)
Magicfind stats (MF)
Rarity bonuses are only applied by the person who lands the killing blow to a monster. Magic, rare, and unique monsters have an increased item rarity modifier for drops.
Increased Rarity of Items found (IIR)
Increased Rarity of Items found (IIR) increased the chance that an item will roll a higher rarity when it drops. Rarity bonuses only apply to equipment drops, and will not affect currency. The rarity is divided in 4 Tiers: - White items eg: - Magic/Blue items eg: - Rare/Yellow items eg: - Unique/Orange items eg:
Increased Quantity of Items found (IIQ)
Increased Quantity of Items found (IIQ) increased the amount of item that drop (aka drop rate). IIQ is much harder to get a lot of than IIR because there's just not that many items that have it.
Dual Client
Dual client is when one player controls 2 accounts to get the loot of 2 players for him alone. Why use two clients? By controlling two clients you gain a lot of benefits: - You gain 10%iiq and 40%iir per client - You don't have to deal with the negative stats on the unique magicfind items because the culler should never get hit (if you're doing it right)
Runner
A lot of builds can be used as a runner, some good examples are: - Dual strike/cyclone/reave melee build (basically any melee build) - Righteous Fire burn build - Elemental buzzsaw - Selfcaster (eg: flameblast) Generally the runner has good single target dps and uses a fast movement ability such as: With:
Culler
The culler is the client with all the magicfindgear on. There are a few uniques that can boost our magicfindingstats significantly! IIQ gear: max: 20% iiq max: 8% iiq max: 16% iiq max: 18% iiq NOTE: Most iiq item's got nerfed there are still legacy iiq versions that exist, most of them are in the standard/hardcore league. There are few in the 4-month leagues as the only way to obtain them is by race rewards. TL;DR: There are legacy versions too... IIR gear: max: (15+70)85% iir the highest iir you can get is on a rare helm! max 50% iir the highest iir you can get in the amulet slot is on a rare amulet! max (20+50)70% iir NOTE: My amulet isn't good I need an upgrade max: 60% iir max: 40% iir NOTE: You can also use Wheel of the Stormsail in your hand slot. IMPORTANT NOTE!: To maximize the magicfind gains of our Divination Distillate flask you can get the 3 flask effect nodes located in the witch tree

How to use: 1) You have your culling ability linked with blood magic so that when you cast/attack you lose a bit of life 2) You use a Sapping life flask that will remove a chunck of your mana eg: 3) Now you use your divination distillate flask and the effect will last long enough to actually have an effect.
Double hp
Each client adds 10% iiq and 40%iir, to actually get that you have to 'tag' the boss before he spawns This means that you have to bring all your clients in before dominus reaches his 2nd phase, after he has spawned you can send them back to town to make sure they don't die. Then when dominus reaches <10% hp you have to bring in all your clients and cull the boss. Detailed video about this coming soon, for now look at the random dominus run video.
FAQ
Q: Why don't you use more clients? A: At this moment you can only use run 2 clients on the same computer. You can use 2 computers to runs 4 clients, but I just can't be bothered to use 2 computers, it's too much of a hassle imo. Q: What's the lowest level the culler can be? A: - 35 is the lowest level required to be able to enter the merciless difficulty - 60 is the lowest level required for Dragon's of excavation gear - 68 is the lowest level required for a lvl 20 iir gem Q: What links do you use on your culler? A: Q: Why does my runner log out when I log in on my culler? A: You have to make two separate accounts Q: Why can't I open a 2nd client? A: You can't use 2 steam clients, you can use 2 PoE clients or 1 steam and 1 PoE Q: Do I have to bring in my culler and my runner for the time of death to get double loot? A: Yes you have to have every client there when you cull, to get the bonus party mf stats, dead characters don't count. Thank you for reading my guide! I hope that you learned something! " Open first client. Login as first character. Open second client. Login as second character. You don't need any 3rd party programs really Alt-Tab between clients freely (you must control both characters manually and without any automation) Remember, suffering is convenient. You don't get 50% iiq per character, that was changed. Now it's split between iiq/iir, don't ask me about the numbers.

IIRC, if you don't want to break rules/get banned, you have to run the two clients on different computers.
