[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
Indeed, and that will also depend on if leech gets changed around. Of course, you're still cut off from that help if you get a 'Cannot Leech' map or a 'Curse Immune' map, but for everything else it should be interesting. The other thing to note is that while the aura buff nodes won't affect the curses themselves, the aura radius nodes will make them larger, and I think even the AOE nodes will do the same thing, too. Might seem like a little thing, but that means you can get your curses on enemies before they get to you in melee range, or even affect some ranged mobs.

Dat gem ... just awesome!
I can add another Aura for free, and if i take of HoT (not a big benefit) and add another Aura-Curse, it's gonna be delicious ... Damn, what a nice Idea from GGG (or one of the community-Members) the game becomes better and better. =================================================================== BTW, any tips reducing the laggs while rainbownuking? On bigger packs, my framerate sometimes drops below 1FPS (!!), and i dont have a pretty weak PC. Just put down the graphics, or is there another trick? What about Controlled Destruction gem, could that be used in place of Arc?
|
|
That certainly is a possibility, or if you are running a Kingsguard setup and don't need the leech gem then you could potentially remove it for Iron Will. However, the reason for Arc is to have it go first and proc Power Charges so Discharge has something to feed off of. Otherwise, you're stuck relying on Molten Strike/Lightning Strike to hit an enemy or groups of enemies. Plus, Arc also has innate shock chance, and if it hits first then it will give Discharge a chance to hit a shocked target instead of one that isn't.
Still, will require some testing, assuming the tree and other things coming with the change can be worked around with this build. |

" Don't think that will be really useful, as Arc generates charges to boost discharge DPS already. And Lightning Pen is still going to be better for a third support gem instead of life leech if leech is not needed. It's a cool gem, but I don't think it will have a place in Mjolner builds since all the damage is from a 3L. The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard
The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard |

Whats the best way to level this character up?
I have never played a low life character before, can you tell me what leveling items and skills i should use. |
|
" Having a more spell damage multiplier will certainly make Controlled Destruction better than Iron Will. However, as Tanakeah mentioned, arc is an essential part of the mjolner 3-link that ensures consistent power (and hence endurance) charge generation. Sure that discharge is gonna hit harder once you discharge at max power charges, but your average number of charges per discharge should see a drastic decrease, thereby reducing your overall DPS and the consistency of your dps. Also, as Tackle mentions, Lightening Penetration should still be better, for when you are not using the leech gem. |

" I personally leveled up my character using an iron-will fire trapper/flame totem/incinerator with a legacy Searing Touch unique Staff. Overall, as you will be going blood magic and will be building up tons of strength, that method of leveling will work fine still due to its decent tankiness and sufficient damage. However, as non-legacy Searing Touch are level 60 instead of level 13, you will have to use increased fire damage scepters instead. |
|
" Did you have to make changes to the passive tree while leveling? |
|
" For me, not all. Incinerate cannot crit (without assassins mark) so going resolute technique posed no downside. As my main source of spell damage came from the witch nodes and iron will, I had little worries of dps. I started out using armour, to complement my strength gain, but arnd level 50, i picked up BM and swapped over to ES, so that i could accommodate some auras. Overall experience, is that Normal and Cruel should be a breeze to level through. Once I reached act 2 Merciless, I could switch over to the main mjolner build. However, if you want to commit to dual flame totem leveling (which has proven to work very well in the awakening), you will have to divert some points into the ancestral bond keystone and spec out of it later. |
