[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
" Blood Rage is really only worth running on a life variant and of course having some life regen to go along with it. The low-life variant isn't worth running BR on, and as far as I know now it isn't worth going for RF either. It's possible just to run it during boss fights if you're using Saffel's Frame and want to use Ruby Flasks, but without the Surgeon's mod available to RT variant of Rainbownuke that this build is, it's a heavy gamble. Again, the life variant is your best bet for that and the LL version should not bother as it has plenty of damage as it is. If you're going LL then you can run Haste to make up for not using BR as well as pathing through IAS nodes and getting IAS on jewels. Shouldn't be too hard to get close to or slightly over 6.0 APS, which should be plenty...just need to plan some stuffs out ahead of time. :) |

Thank you for your reply Tanakeah!
If I may ask some more for this build, the benefit from Low-Life of course is the aura and spell dmg boost from PA and clear mind. However, my question is (maybe it is too silly to ask), if in comparison between LL and life-based, which one is potentially to be more tanky? As I was playing CI ice-storm it was very easy to achieve 8000 ES with budgeted item and over 10000 ES with decent. While I started to play Low-Life Rainbownuke, the damage is high and I am high as HELL but the ES pool is much harder then I think to boost. Here is my gear (the gloves will be switched to a 180+ ES glove at next lv):

I can't roll 4R for the boots so I decide to try enfeeble, was using Warlord's mark and it went great but wanted to use INC Duration so I swapped. And the vitality is a joke as I can't buy the life gain on hit jewel lol Just in case if anyone would need my passive tree to see where the problem is:

(Although Im only 68 lv and will take some more ES nodes in further point but still not sure if it is high enough) And If i want to boost the ES, the gear will be so costy (250+es gloves costing few ex without any decent stat at Warband) My question is that, if I want to play a TANKY Rainbow, should I go for LL or Life-based please? I don't know the dps between Life-based and LL but I was thinking to forfeit the aura and spell dmg boost to trade the life-regen and boost by RF and BR, that's why I asked the previous question. Appreciate for anyone answer. Especially Tanakeah! |

@chun1019
Your ES is low not because of your gear, but because you just don't have enough points to spare yet. I checked your tree and overall you've got the right idea, but I think you only have 90/123 available points, which means you're at a lower level. I just took a look at your character and you're only level 68...you shouldn't even be going anywhere near level 75 maps at that level. You're missing out on potential jewel sockets, the Foresight notable in the ES wheel, the +1 Lightning Resist notable, which also grants more ES, and some additional aura nodes that will help you out. At this point you shouldn't be worrying about anything but running areas like Aqueducts or 68 maps and getting more passive points and leveling your gems up. You're far from being done and being a 'tanky' character. This build takes a bit to get going, but you can be 'tanky' with either LL or life, though it's all about getting the proper gem levels, rolling good flasks, and just practicing with the build. Again, the main reason you don't feel 'tanky' is because you're still very under-leveled for content like 75+ maps. Get up to level 80+, invest into the passive tree more for ES and aura nodes, and whatever else you are planning, and you'll see the differences start to show. Also, switch your Arc and Discharge gems around in Mjolner. The gems trigger from top-left to bottom-right and you want Arc firing off first so you generate Power Charges to feed Discharge so it can fire them off. |

But it's really not worth..you loose 2k+ ES and actually have less dps :\ |

@NACR
That's a tough question as I do not PvP so sdaly I cannot help ya out there. :\ At first glance, Mara's best advantage is that you have access to a lot of life, armour, and life regen nodes, so the life variant with Kingsguard is a bit easier to use. That and the extra Strength you pick up is nice for Iron Will, but other than that...that's all I know. :( |
|
Thanks again for Tanakeah helping!
Now's getting better as got the ES nodes and the gem level is out, the resistance def is so obvious and that is the reason for picking LL. I got an idea but don't know if it is worth to do it. For the passive tree, I am thinking to take +1 Power Charge, +1 Enduring Charge and Faith and Steel (10% ES +8 all Res) nodes by using: It is located at left side jewel shots, using this jewel can be result of using 4 nodes to achieve +1 +1, 10%ES and +10 int and normally you would have to take 6 points to achieve that. My question is that, as I don't exactly understand the damage output from discharge, does the +1 PC and +1 EC would boost the damage to discharge as you got 1 more PC and EC? I understand that the EC would increase the duration of Immortal Call but not sure whether the Power Charge would do any good. That's why I am not sure I should take it or not. |
|
That's the exact jewel I use and have in the same place on my passive tree for a LL build variant, chun1019. The extra charges do increase the damage of Discharge because it will work roughly like this:
1. You use your main attack and hit an enemy or group of enemies. 2. You begin generating Power Charges and maybe proc Arc as well, which hits those enemies and generates more Power Charges. 3. Eventually you're going to proc Discharge and now it's going to fire off however many Power Charges you have gained, and then you're very likely to Discharge whatever Endurance Charges you gained because you expanded the PCs. Simplified, but that's roughly how it works. Tackle70 did some calculations back in the thread and pretty much confirmed that having an extra PC and EC will make your damage go up. Putting it even more simply...you start off with 3 PCs and 3 ECs as a base value. If you increase those base values to 4/4 then that means Discharge is going to be firing off those 4/4 charges instead of 3/3 and if you look at how Discharge works, then it will make even more sense. Try to keep your PC-to-RC ratio even, or take extra PCs since you can generate them very reliably because of your main attack and Arc being unable to crit thanks to the RT keystone. Long and short of it...yup...use the IL jewel there and get those notables...well worth it. |

So I've changed my build and upgraded a few items, tried to do Atziri but failed.
I am guessing I am lacking DPS or maybe attack speed? I don't really know. Anyway I'll just grind for some more attack speed jewels with LGoH on them! I'll post my updates gear and passive tree below, maybe someone has some pointers? ;p " " " Last edited by TJEmvp#2833 on Sep 3, 2015, 11:54:21 AM

What kind of flasks are you using for the Atziri fight? Also, we're talking regular Atziri, yes? The other big question...when she goes into her split phase, are you avoiding attacking the one that is holding the mirror?
