[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
Well my ranger is naked now because I been using her ripper split build to level up a new scion. Got all bandit passives, dinged 71. Got my legacy Mjolner, Voll's Devotion, Romira's Banquet. Now I need to decide on low life or life.
Im down to 30 some odd exalts, but I could get more if I sold my atziri axe and a few other things. One thing I notice is the usage of lightning and molten strike. I understand the reasoning, but say I want to cyclone discharge sometimes, would that be a problem with either build or does it not proc fast enough? |

" Cyclone is definitely inferior to Lightning Strike or Molten Strike. As for Life or Low Life, that's really up to you. Low Life is going to be slightly better for high level mapping but it is also likely to be more expensive to gear well (I don't know how expensive some of the life variants are to gear but I'm guessing they're cheaper, and I can definitely say that 30 ex will get you OK gear but not GG gear for the low life variant). TBH I'd try low life on budget gear (a 4L or 5L Lorica) and see how you like it... I'd encourage you not to dump 30 ex on gear at level 71 (for either the life or low life build) as even with GG gear the build would be a bit weak at that level. Get whatever budget variant together you can, save your exalts, play until level 85 or so, and then you should have enough experience to know which mjolner variant you'd prefer to play and spend some real $$$ on. Hi. I'm playing at Warbands and i'm new so Warbands mean no legac right? then is it worthy to build this style now?

" The Shavs alone is going to cost me around that. The problem with trying each one is its going to cost a ton of regrets already to respec to either tree. She is leveled as a crit bow. I really don't want to wait til 85 to have fun. I don't plan on pushing the boundaries of how hard I can make a map on myself either. If those mods roll like you both are displaying, I don't mind rerolling that map. |

That's why I said I'd just do the budget version of this build for now if I were you. It probably wouldn't cost you more than 4 ex total in gear and you'd get to have a good feel for the build to see if you like it - you shouldn't have any issues with normal low/mid tier maps even on a budget level 71 build.
Then, later on, you could decide to either upgrade your gear if you like the low life build or else switch to a life variant. I think spending 30 ex on a level 71 character when you're trying to figure out what build to do on that character is silly. Spend 3-5 ex getting the budget gear suggestions together for the low life build (as per the OP) and then go from there. You are not going to get a good kingsguard variant together for 3-5 exalts worth of gear, I don't think. So just go with what's cheaper for now and then worry about upgrading to GG stuff if you're still playing the build in 15-20 levels. " If you feel like getting a Voll's Devotion then you can do this in Warbands/Tempest just fine. All depends if you want to spend ~20+ exalts on one. Cheapest non-corrupt is 29 ex as of this post (and you'd want non-corrupt since you really want the strength implicit) I would not personally do this build in a temp league but that's because 30 temp league exalts on a voll's devotion just seems crazy to me. But if you don't mind that, there's no reason not to do it! Welp... thanks GGG.
Life/Kingsguard is now officially going to be better for high level mapping as of 2.0.1b patch. " That mod will be more or less not doable for this build. You maybe could get through a map with that mod by trying to cheeseball everything offscreen with lightning strike but my guess is that you'll die. While this variant will still be super GG, Kingsguard builds are now the way to go IMO. Blood Magic maps will be a problem for life/kingsguard but will be doable if the mods aren't too bad. I can't see doing an "of congealment" map on this build really at all. I saw those pop up and I got the insulation one earlier on a 77 Plateau map, or whatever the one was that provides status resist/immunity at the high levels. I didn't see this particular mod, but wow...that's a mod that's definitely a roll-over for sure if you're not going Kingsguard or have insane. insane LGoH since that's not Leech. Makes me wonder if people are just gonna get so pissed at that and say, "Fuck it." and not bother...I mean...total LL AND Mana Leech, too. Just...WTF?
On another note...forgot to equip my Saffel's Frame as that same map was also REflects 15% elemental damage...died really fast. :p Also had Vulnerability and met one particularly nasty Corrupting Blood mob and...well, died to that, too. That was because I equipped the wrong life flask that had curse removal on it instead of bleed removal. 20% gone from my WIP Kingsguard build...sheesh. :p Ah well, both my fault so I can't blame the map, but after I got those gear pieces sorted out, I was able to do the map, even at level 88 and totally not 100% optimized on my purity aura boosting, too. |

Right after I spent 24 hours leveling to 75....
Still, is this one map mod being undoable a dealbreaker? |
