anyone else is getting a lot of page faults with the new league? especially after interacting with the monolith?

All the time. Windows users have this problem from time to time, but on linux... all the time. Apart from that `monolit` bug... nice fps, no other crashes.

thats unfortunate. sometimes I can go for 2 hours without any error, sometimes only 25-30 minutes. I guess it has to do with which kind of legion or rather legion boss spawns?

I didn't have any issues with betrayal and synthesis at all, but the new content is ...

and yeah, outside of the legion content the game is superb.

Yeah that's sucks, new content is QLL, but I need to skip spawning legion :/

Cross the fingers and lets see what time will bring to us...

edit:
I was try to spawn them a moment ago and they wasn't crash. Something was fixed and it is not always.

Yep same here, game seem super stable for me until I hit an obelisk for Legion, most of the time it crashes when the timer finishes.

The problem is the drops from the Legion content are brilliant, especially for leveling, so I've been hitting them when they are near waypoints, the content seems to stay in status if I log back in immediately.
Only way to still get juice from it is... few seconds from spawn out, run away from area where animation will happens, 1-2 screens away.

One more new glitch I was recognize is on 'The Mud Flats' near water flow, where fps going down from 100 to under 1... plus many artifacts appearing.

Or it is nothing new?

I have not been able to get the game to even boot up since they dropped DX9 support (they can branch into Xbox and PS4, yet can't do the simple task of leaving DX9 as an option). Now, as of this weekend, I have been able to get the game to boot.

FPS is looking good across all graphics settings, but there is still one major problem. The game does about a 2-5 second freeze about every 2-20 seconds, making the game unplayable. I can find no correlation except for the fact that it has a 100% of happening when there is something on the screen not part of the game. Two examples include the Steam overlay (which I have disabled) and the little popup that many OS's have when you adjust the volume.

I am so close to playing after not being able to play for nearly a year. If anyone has the time to spare to help, please do.

Specs:

OS: Latest version of Manjaro (xfce desktop)
PC: Dell G5 (don't know how important this is)
CARD: GP106M (GTX 1060 Mobile)
DRIVER: Shows up in Manjaro Settings Manager as "video-nvidia", basically the standard non-free drivers
WINE: Steam Proton 4.2-6

Again, this is the closest I've gotten to playing on Linux, so any help for the home stretch is appreciated.

DX9 is not needed at all, DXVK is the new king. I think DXVK is included in Steam Proton by default, so nothing to do there. You also need the Vulkan extension for your VGA, which is also builtin since several version into the official driver. So the only thing you need is to install the newest propietary nvidia driver for your card and you are good to go. Consult the Manjaro wiki on how to install proprietary drivers.

It is also worth to try run it under clean wine.

No offense but please read my post again.

What is the current recommended method to run the non-Steam version through normal WINE. I ask, because throughout my journey of trying to play this game, I've found multiple lists of steps, each differing in age and method. I want to make sure I have the best possible combination of configurations.

When/if this fails, what should be my next troubleshooting step?

EDIT: Vsync might be the problem, read my reply below.

Before installing WINE + POE, I decided to make one last check in the graphics settings for the Steam version to see if there was anything I hadn't tried yet. I disabled VSync, and surprise, the stuttering immediately stopped. VSync has always been a harmless setting throughout my years of gaming that I never suspected it to be an issue this time.

Not gonna get too excited, but this may be the first time I get to play properly since Incursion.

Same for me, lowering then water quality option did it for me so far.

Manjaro with Mesa 19.0.6; AMD RX580; using Lutris launching the game.

Tested several versions of DXVK and it did not change anything.
