New 1.1.3 Skill: Convocation

Why dont they fix they path finding instead... i dont have any mroe room for another gem :(
I am always happy to see new skills.

But I will say this, all of those whining about everyone else whining about summoners --- Believe it or not, summoners existed long before Smoke Mine did. And guess what? They were still one of the most commonly used builds.

There is a reason when anyone asks about a noob friendly build, everyone recommends a summoner. There is a reason why when anyone asks for a solid MF build, they recommend a summoner. There is a reason why when somebody asks for a tanky build, they recommend a summoner.

Can anyone guess why?

HINT : Summoners have never sucked.

Seriously, wtf would everyone that got hooked on Smoke Mine do before it was introduced. Smoke Mine is not very old.

And yes, I have played a Summoner. Both before and after the introduction of Smoke Mine, Desecrate, Bone Offering, Flesh Offering, Raging Spirit, etc... You know, the old days of zombies and skeletons.

Point is, before whining about everyone bitching about the summoner spoiling, just remember that summoners were around long before most of the skills and techniques many of you feel you have been robbed of --- And they did more than fine.

Back to the OP, path finding would be a nice fix. But the skill does have benefits outside of just getting your minions' attention. Immediate removal from danger, or into danger to save your ass, and healing --- Sounds a bit better than path finding to me.

yea RoS really good atm ;D poe was better before but now it seems diablo has risen

I play vanilla D3. The recent changes have indeed made that game much better, though they have also cemented it as a casual game not requiring much commitment, unlike PoE. Which is fine. The two games serve different needs that way - D3 for simple fun, PoE for mastery.

I still wouldn't recommend RoS, tho. I don't plan on buying it. The important changes were thankfully bundled into the original game. RoS costs me 67% of the original game's price for about 20% more content. Not worth it, imo. I'd have accepted it costing 12-15 dollars, not 40 (and I mean that as the base retail price, not as a deal. Deals would then be even less). I have no intention of further supporting a company whose practices I don't agree with (with the RoS price confirming that nothing has changed in that respect). Still, if it's worth it for you, then good. Peace! :)

Cos fixing pathing and AI is no easy task. Adding a new skill is far easier. Plus this skill has a bit of other utility too. This isn't unique to GGG. Any developer would choose to try something like this as AI is really a huge effort to get right. Why do you think so many games have such dumb bosses whose difficulty arises from inflated hp pools and damage values rather than intelligent fighting (like we have with higher difficulties in chess games, for example)? It's simply cos intelligent fighting (and improved pathing) are really a lot harder than they sound.
