When should i transition into wand? Also what kind of gear do i need when lvling?

" The whole list is based on my personal experience and knowledge (which I consider at quite high level) how mechanics work exactly for this build. 1. + added Lightning damage 2. Crit.chance 3. % Weapon elemental damage 4. + added #2 ele damage (imho cold > fire) 5. Crit.multiplier 6-7. + added #3 ele damage 6-7. Accuracy/attspeed (6-7th place: depends on overall gear status and personal needs/preferences) 8. Projectile speed 9. % lightning damage 10. % cold/fire damage 11. Manaregen

thanks for your replies guys, even though your rankings differ a bit ;)
as i have seen from the page before, crit chance seems to be a special issue
" Not everyone is going to agree, but i would put Lightning Damage and Crit Chance as the most important stats same as d3so (keep in mind you can only get 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes). If you would like to test this yourself and see how having and not having crit chance on your wand scales with power charges. Grab a wand with crit chance roll, the amount of crit chance doesn't matter as long as you can grab a piece of jewellry with similar amounts of crit chance (ammie). Then use the wand with crit (without the crit ammie on) and get to your full charges then note the crit chance you have on your power siphon. Take the wand off and replace it with a wand without crit chance then replace that crit you lost on your wand with the ammie which has similar crit chance. Get to full charges again and you will see that you lose a lot of crit at full charges due to the scaling of power siphon with crit off your wand (and all the crit nodes). Even though your base crit is the same with no charges, the result at full charges with scaling is big. For me this difference is going from over 80 crit chance to 60 crit chance, which is huge as 80 crit means pretty much every hit is crit, to having a bit over half your hits as crits, which is obviously noticable especially when you have high multiplier also (mine being 625%). This obviously doesnt mean any of the other stats aren't important, its just for your end game wand you would ultimately want one with a crit chance roll on it to make the most out of 1) your power charges and 2) all your crit (nodes+gear) Baked Beans - Meme Dreams https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ_a2zFbPIIiE4kURsvQ4Dw Last edited by PoE17 on Apr 15, 2013, 6:02:11 AM

thanks for your detailed description man, does the game anywhere inform me about this mechanic? (that crit chance on wand is treated differently)
fortunately I have asked this before buying an endgame-wand ;) how do you got 625% crit multi? that seems really high as you can't get too many from passives (and just about 100% (?) from a quality crit multi gem), i think thats one of my main problems that my crit multi is ways too low :/
" No idea about the crit chance, i just tested it myself and noticed the crit difference with and without the crit on the wand, i think d3so posted some images and commented on it also recently, though there there are some that dont value it as much or share the same opinion. With regards to crit multiplier, some come from gear, assasination node, and increased crit gem. ... it also helps to have multiplier on wand too (o_-) Good luck with the wands, also whenever you get new gear wands, jewelery etc, always check the dps difference with all auras and full charges. For instance my ammie that i currently use gave less dps in town, but with all auras and full charges it gave alot more than my previous ammie because of the scaling.
Spoiler
When i got the wand, it skyrocketed my deeps to: - 2.5k(GMP) AoE and 10.9k Single (in town) - 5.1k(GMP) AoE and 21.5k Single (with auras) - 9.1k(GMP) AoE and 39.0k Single (auras + 7 charges) (11.9K with LMP, but GMP far better) 83 CC and 644+ multiplier - you have to be extremely careful with reflect and now lightning thorns though, i have to a run with a LOH gem and swap it with the weapon ele gem so i can take down those particular packs without destroying myself. That's some godly dps numbers you got there, but hp/armor seems extremely low. Other than elemental reflect and lightning thorns, do you not have any problem with chargers or flicker striker mobs in higher lvl maps? Really hate dying at lvl 80+.
Trying to decide for myself whether to go glass cannon or not so appreciate your input here. Thanks. " |
