" Like i said generic builds limits the freedom to play, i was never a fan of the templar voice and apperance so i am starting witch with fp + 2 fire traps and added fire into late 40s or low 50s. In all honesty all builds are not gear dependent but you just won't achieve results versus someone who is funded. if i were to really use templar as the base i would go 2h elemental dual wield although 2h leapslam is easy too. " Just because you ask: I would have somewhat 20-21k dps with wake of destruction which I don't like and won't use, also with starkonja's head that could be near 25k. But you don't even need that dps, reflect maps/mobs are already a pain with 12-13k dps (all the numbers are singletarget, obviously). Also adding 6th link on aoe (which is your basically main dps tool and healing source in reflect maps), will just make situation worse. I don't really feel the need to have 6th link for my aoe, dps is high enough to 2-3shot whole screen. So telling you know somebody with 20k dps won't impress anybody. Guy who did comparison in page66 is clearly too low level (no offense) to actually be able to test stuff properly. His singletarget (buffed) numbers are only 4-4.5k, it obviously shows he is missing a lot of passive nodes. And in endgame build and gear, phys dps will be like somewhat 1% of your total dps. Another thing, nobody needs "your" word, I know what I am talking about, I know what exactly wand needs to have, to be great. Few points of ele damage more on an item doesn't mean anything, at all. I don't know why are you still arguing even after a guy did a test for curiosity and has proven the point that you are wrong. just to really clarify all this stupid nonsense. I'm going give my wand to my friend, i've also bid on a wand beyond the wand you currently possess. We're talking 50-75 physical with lightnign of 9-111. in addition 1.64 attack speed and 10.8% crit. I'll get back on this case. believe me, elemental damage is the most important. Like you said, putting on wake of destruction easily sky rocketed your damage? why because of 1-120 lightning damage, its the multipliers that count. Not needing a base crit of 2% more is significant since the original multipliers + power charges bring you to 60-70% which is absurd. I also take it that your other equipments have 15-30% + more elemental damage, if not I don't see this argument even remotely useful. Top it off, i know very well what i am saying, i have friends who have very much geared for a wander with GG items. I've even asked many hardcore 85+ players on this issue. I hold my case, my wand is far substantial to yours AND under circumstances you actually are able to gear yourself with %+Ele dmg and local elemental damage from other gears as well. Im out, i'll report to you on the case of two wands once i have possession of one. Its simply a matter of time before you feel utterly silly.

Why dps skyrockets using Wakes - because its ADDITIONAL 1-120light damage on top of my current 74% critchance and ~530% multiplier, and that lightning damage is scaled off Arcin Blows aswell, other elemental damage types aren't. Also, you won't have 70-ish crichance without cc roll on the wand, unless you get somewhat crazy neck with both critchance and crit multiplier rolls.
Btw about the wand that you have bid on - I would grab it in your place for that price, since it's superior to yours, also better than mine. 2exalts is underprice. As you can see, it's almost 20% critchance difference there. Another thing, huge critchance gives you utility-wise benefits. If your gear contains some cold damage - you will be able to not only shock whole screen, but very often freeze aswell. Last edited by d3s0 on Apr 12, 2013, 8:19:47 PM

" @insane I levelled with ligthning strike the first time, was OK but wasn't able to transition until a bit after lvl 60 when i had suitable wander gear (this was on open beta release so everything i had was self found). I recently re-rolled my wander (still in the process) with dual wield elemental cleave for levelling and that wasn't that bad also and solo'd pretty much everything. I still don't think your dps will come from your crit chance on the wand, it seems much more important for it to have crit multiplier and accuracy. Particularly because you have low chance to hit, without that 300+ accuracy, you'd be doing under 60%, which would mean that the accuracy is making an effective 15-20% increase of your damage.

" I wouldn't say i'm well versed with the in-depth damage mechanics of the game. But definitely one thing I've noticed from all the wands i've tried is that having Critical Strike Chance on your wand makes a huge difference in terms of the overall crit chance you will have with full charges. If you take similar wands with similar elemental damage but one with crit chance and one without (or even if it had crit multiplier instead), there will be a decent discrepancy between your damage numbers and you seem to get more out of the wand with crit chance. I've never been able to find a GGG post or read this anywhere, but it does seem that charges from the power siphon skill gem, scale alot better when coupled a Crit Chance modifier on the wand itself. And the difference in Crit Chance is pretty drastic, you could get well over 80 crit chance once you pick up the two bloodthirt, and assasination nodes in the skill tree. And therefore in essence your actual damage is probably more realistally closer to your to damage x your crit damage as you will crit almost every hit. You crit chance doesn't seem to scale that high withough the crit chance on the wand imho. And at top end scaling for me on some similar wands to my current but without the cc mod i would lose over 2k aoe dps and 7k single target dps which is alot. In light of recent discussions i figure i might as well post what i would consider the mods i would want on my uber end game gg wand (which hopefully someone can make and sell to me for cheap :P) - [5-11] - [108-115] lightning damage (ilvl 74 mod electrocuting prefix 1) - [27-36] - [55-64] cold damage (ilvl 75 mod entombing prefix 2) (because of the benefits of doing cold damage versus fire damage if i had to pick an element) - 31-36% increased weapon elemental damage (ilvl 75 mod unleased prefix 3) - this or lvl 74 fire mod (either of those would be better than singular elemental damage scaling mods) - 35 - 38 crit strike chance (ilvl 72 mod incision suffix 1) - 35 - 38 crit strike multiplier (ilvl 73 mod destruction suffix 2) - Suffix 3 could be either hi-rolled accuracy or attack speed ... now someone go make me this wand :P edit: @karitas - accuracy is also important yes but once you get your crit multiiplier high enough, having lowish accuracy can kind of be negated by GMP+Chain and high crit multiplier. well new wand just updated. And just grab 6link with additional accuracy free 1000 accuracy and no mana multiplier. " Before Maligaros, I was using double-ele 300ish accuracy gloves, boost was noticeable. Also I understand your point, yes, for me personally, accuracy means more, for somebody else it might mean less because of higher total accuracy. Still, difference between max crit and non-crit wands is like total 18% critchance on your char, what is huge. Even more huge when u got high multiplier |
