As far as I know, this is an unprecedented event in gaming history.

I can't remember the specifics, it wasn't quite like this, but I wanted something somewhat similar to this to happen on April 1st (with a roll back).

Oh... I remember now, it would be to have all items be affected by vaal orbs for that day.

GGG are like one of a kind in the industry. To actually explain and apologize for 18 minutes worth of deleted items, when most companies wouldn't even dignify a one day server down with an update half or even a third as long as this.

I agree, every other company would not do this and GGG does every time there is a problem or even downtime. Besides the 1 min downtime for a new patch, they want the servers up 24/7/365, to them anything less is unacceptable which is absolutely amazing.

When something goes wrong with a game, people just want to know whats up. Companies seem to not say anything because people might get upset or something but what gets people upset is being left in the dark. GGG gives such detailed reports every time.

This is exactly the level of service we deserve, because this was one of the most entertaining things that has happened in PoE history, and the damage was able to be undone relatively quickly.
