DPS dropped, changed nothing.

I just noticed that my DPS (particularly Double Strike) dropped according to the tooltip (or whatever it's called when you hover over the skill). I definitely did not change any gear or skills...nothing.

What gives? Anyone else have this happen?

Do you use any auras? Auras only apply outside of town. In the same vein, were you buffed by a party-members aura or shrine? Maybe you had charges (power or frenzy) that changed the numbers? A flask effect?

You leveled up, your accuracy did not change, but your chance to hit decreased (because it is compared against mobs your level).

Because of that, your tooltip DPS dropped.

using hatred, but comparing the same scenarios here. like literally this morning with the same gear, same aura, same everything. dps was like 8800. now its like 8530. so, pretty substantial considering that's like a passive skill point's worth.

i think my spectral throw damage is down too, but i paid the closest attention to double strike, just because it was higher and i have two different weapons i use. with the secondary weapon on, the dps was like 11165 (over 11k) and when i saw now it was just under 11k (109XX) i noticed something was wrong.

i looked in the first place because i tagged an acceleration shrine, curious to see what it would do to dps...but forgetting that the increases aren't reflected in the stats menu.

so is that what the kids call it nowadays @_@

Check your weapon quality, if you use certain orbs on it the quality will reset to zero ( I had this same issue)

Yup, knew that too, and didn't mess with anything. I think my chance to hit went down 1% from 85% to 84% and perhaps that's enough to make the difference there.

Of course it did. If it didn't, the DPS number would not be accurate, as it won't be Damage per Second, it would be Damage Per Second, Maybe.
