I have to agree with most of you. A recipe for endgame that requires low level grinding doesn't make much sense unless they significantly increase the drop rate of stone hammers in high level areas/maps to even it out.

Or better: cut the crap and increase the droprate of chisels

Totally agree with this.

Chisels should drop as often as scraps or whetstones, at least in high level areas.

Chisel drop rate is absolute nonsense considering how easy it is to sink them.

I dont understand this whining...
Yes people dont come by stone hammers very often but just think what was the last recipe for chisels? 40q worth of maps or 20q map. Srsly someone EVER used THAT?

sounds great.

needs to work with the upper tier hammers of the same kind though. otherwise solid recipe.

I thought the same thing as soon as I read it (Rock Breakers and Gavels).
Nice idea, but these recipes look so random. Why on hell would I need a 20% stone hammer? It's just so unintuitive. It may be useful, but it lacks fun, like many new features in this game.
as a casual player, i like. nowhere near mapping yet, but for someone who rolls alot of new chars, this could be useful for gettin some useful uniques early on (if, like im hoping, the hammer value goes up) all yall high peeps whining about yet another option tailor fitted to your play level.. smh. other than trading (im self-found so that doesnt even help me), this recipe gives non mappers absolutely nothing. yall arent allowed to be butthurt till full server reset and were all level 0 again.

somebody in this thread mentioned chris had wanted to encourage trade between nubs and vets --- this funnels cash to new players.
it's not all about you and your conveniences.
Hum... i wonder if other recipe are like this....
Stone Hammer? Really? Who would thought of it....
that recipe doesnt really make a lot of sense to me... If Im not wrong chisels on nemesis goes for 1 alch each or even less ? And having in mind that the lowest lvl map - 66 goes for 1 alch, that will mean that people will have to invest in most cases 4 blacksmith whitestoens in order to make a white non-quality stone hammer to be with 20 Q. So, the recipe sounds to me like this 1 alch + 4 blacksmith whitestones = 1 alch or even less...
Conclusion: that recipe would be useful in 1 week race or something, not in a league where you can simply buy the chisel from the trade chat and it will cost you less rather than to actually use this recipe... thus if the recipe is simply for example like this : you can vendor any map for a chisel or even better depending from the map lvl that you will vendor the person will get a different amount of chisels, for example 66 lvl map : 1 chisel, 67 lvl map :2 chisels and so on...

And finally, a quick off topic suggestion: Instead of making patches that adds a new skill most of which are not pretty popular/not used a lot by most people why not create a patch in which more significant changes are made to the passive tree.I mean diversity in skills is welcome even though most of them are useless but what Im trying to say is that in my opinion one of the most if not the most interesting thing in the game is the actual build theory crafting or another amazing idea (I am aware that such major changes will take some time to balance them and make sure that everything is running as it should be) but why not making lvl for instance after lvl 50 to feel more rewarding ? Imagine if you get like 2 passive points instead of 1 passive point for each lvl after 50 or for one in three lvls. Or another change can be the quest rewards to give all 2 passive points instead of 1. Think about the feeling of getting those 2 passive points after killing Piety...

A4 + significant passive skill amount/tree changes = A 100% FRESH NEW GAME that will bring so many of the players that used to play the game a lot. ( I am aware that the game is getting more and more popular and probably the overall amount of players is increasing, however, in my opinion there are a lot of people that stopped playing the game...)

Otherwise, the Act 4 release on its own it will probably be like d3 ros expansion ( there will be a hype for a short period of time after it's release but very quickly that hype will die).

Having said all of that, PoE is still an amazing game and GGG are setting up the standards that other game developers should follow.

That's because chisels give non mappers absolutely nothing. You use them on... wait for it.... maps.
