As I suspect many recently asking a lot of fish details are trying to figure out what they can net in the fishing trades, I will post a few words of caution. Heed them well or you will quickly get schooled by an old salt.

1) good fish flip themselves, which cuts out a lot of trade potential.

3) If a deal smells fishy, cut bait before you lose the boat.

4) if all else fails revert to rule #2.

As for fish properties, they can vary by quantity (for instance the Socketeye can hold one or two gems when crafting) and also vary by chromatic attributes. The afore mentioned Socketeye might have the "brainfood" mod and boost intelligence skills, or it might boost the chances of crafting strength modifiers.

Thus, even when they are of the same type, one fish is not the same as two fish, nor a red fish the same as a blue fish.

What nonsense did i stumble upon here? Nevermind, i dont care...

I tried stacking cast speed and catch lots of fish in a small amount of time (for testing purposes) but it seems that you really do need strength to catch them, i had 21 str and 40% increased cast speed. Though I can only imagine how good it would be with strength!
