Of course he doesn't know it's against the rules. Who in their right mind would have a popular stream, and then knowingly use a banned macro? Do you think someone would be idiotic enough to stream Maphack? Cuz that's exactly the same thing as what you're saying here.

Someone who is confident that he won't get banned for that offense.

I guess you are right about this, GGG do not seem to do anything about Top players/ Top streamers. I wont name and shame anyone but idabiP (Not spelled right) uses the trade macro aswell and does it live on his stream.

But I guess they are allowed to do so becuase of their status as streamers top tier players.
What I dont understand is why GGG isnt just be giving it free to everyone to use those macros without the thred of getting banned hanging over their head.

They don't have any special status, and are not allowed. Now that we have an official stance, if you see a streamer use a trade macro, report it to GGG, with a link to the vod.

Well I know we have an official stance and I have reported these two with evidence to GGG about 20 days ago or so. It cant take that long to view a video or look at a twitch account or whatever the evidence would be.

So GGG's stance against trade macros dosent seem to apply to these kind of players....

How do u know they didn't get a warning? Have you seen the same player use trade macros again? If you do, report again with direct link to the vod. Repeat offenses are dealt with harshly.

Unless you are a top streamer...or Kripp
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.

Well if you check Etups twitch site it still says how to use the macros incl. the trade macro. Thats how I "know" nothing is being done about it.
But as I said it is clearly legal for these players to use the trade macros because of their status please correct me if I am wrong GGG
why on earth would itemlevel be illegal? That doesnt give you any sort of advantage in game, it's just really annoying having to click on an item and type /itemlevel to see what the damn ilvl is! I'd be shocked if anyone got banned for THAT.

Etup hasn't played the game in weeks. We got confirmation that trade macros are spam exactly *two days ago*. If you see someone do it on stream since then and in future, report them with timestamped video proof and they will get sanctions. From now on saying "no they won't get sanctions because they are streamers" is asinine. They sanctioned 2 streamers for cross-league trading recently.

Macro legality does not directly relate to whether they give an advantage. Notice the volume control macro is illegal! It's about automating multiple actions.

Fear not, to make the typical illegal itemlevel macro legal, all you have to do is change it to this:
- manually pick up an item
- click your macro which inputs /itemlevel
- manually put down the item

I'll admit that's not clear from the OP right now, so i'll add a legal version.

Well, It isnt the first time I or others have reported streamers or top tier players for bending or breaking the rules. I've done it several times during the open beta as well and every time I have gotten the response from GGG (in mail) that Trade macros are disallowed so its not just two days ago it has been confirmed.

But I can see that we can agree on disagreing upon which players are "allowed" to bend the rules.
With that said I know the recently sanctioned two streamers for cross League Trading using a very lame excuse that they didnt now about the rule even though it has been posted since late October or so. But very handy for GGG as they could lower the punishment for the abuse as it were top tier players / streamers.

Just make the g.. d..... macros legal so everyone can use them if they want to without sanctions would be a lot easier...
