At the end of the day, this is a video game. I have more fun farming Merveil than I would have running docks endless to level, so I'll stick to farming Merveil.

Bump for kills 51-75. It seems like IIR and IIQ work as intended: I got more uniques this set than both prior sets put together, but fewer total items than either individual prior set.

I make about 30-45 rares per run, which takes 4-5 minutes each. Also you can find good uniques there.

Those MF numbers (mostly the IIQ, since it doesn't spawn on rares/there is no IIQ gem) are all but unobtainable in the new leagues (Nemesis/Domination), especially when factoring in the survivability needed (especially in Nemesis) to kill Merciless Dominus.

But yes, I'm sure once you're able to consistently, safely kill him with loads of IIR/IIQ, he would be the best to farm (or if not him, Piety).

I think I'm going to give this a try mainly for the alteration orbs, just 5 linked my ilvl 79 saintly and need a good ar/es roll :P

actually you dont need to have good gear to farm piety
you farm piety to have good gear, not vice versa

if you have high block and LGOH (or ondar's guile), piety is safe

I use a 2H axe, thus I have -zero- block. I'm also a Marauder, so Ondar's Guile is too far to get while still picking up what I need (HP, Damage, and Resists). If I put on my non MF gear, I could probably go kill Piety, but my MF gimps me too hard to make it viable (basically, my rings and amulet trash my resists; the boots and helm also make it worse).

well for that reason i always start as a farming character in a new league

in domination my first character was ST dagger+shield, acrobatic+ondar's guile
i could farm piety with minimal items
the IIR/IIQ dont actually matter, farming piety is all about farming alteration orbs, with occasional small lottery (such as kaom primacy, ratnest, unique maps, etc)

dont count the unique drops, but rather count how many alteration/jeweler/fusing you got per hour

so Merviel farming, then Piet, then Dominus?
