Merciless Merveil Farming Log

This is a log of Merciless Merveil kills. It contains information on items dropped specifically by Merveil. Currencies linked for each set include: currencies found on the way to Merveil, from Merveil herself, and from vendoring the items looted on the way to Merveil and from Merveil herself.
I will be updating this as I complete sets of 25 runs, most likely with another 2 sets tomorrow. I encourage you to do the same, as it will help us learn potential IIR/IIQ thresholds for optimal farming. After 50 runs with my current gear, I will be switching my Sadima's for Aureseize to see if that drastically affects drops (50 IIR over 21 IIQ). Note: This is on the Nemesis league. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Method: Start by warping into the Cavern of Wrath waypoint. Proceed to the entrance to Cavern of Anger. Make a portal -outside- the door to Cavern of Anger and proceed inside. Rush through killing what you wish until you find Merveil's Chamber. Proceed to smash Merveil in the face. Loot all the goodies and zone out into the forest. Take the nearby waypoint to town. Vendor/stash your drops and take your portal back to Cavern of Wrath. Make a fresh portal and repeat until you cannot take it anymore. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Build: I use a typical Marauder with Heavy Strike and Spectral Throw to farm. I am level 67 at present. Edit: I am now level 68 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Gear: This gear was all found while leveling (including other characters) by myself. As you can see, it can still be improved greatly for more IIR and IIQ.

This set was a bit more ordinary from past experience, though the unique/run ratio still seems a bit low. Perhaps more IIR will help; I'll do the next 25 runs with Aureseize instead of Sadima's.

This set was again more what I expected from prior experience, perhaps I'm just used to having more IIR than anything else. This set was done with Aureseize instead of Sadima's, so the IIR/IIQ ratings were 232/28.

Hmm. Now I'm debating between Piety farming and Merveil.

i find merciless piety to be much better i do that run in about 4-5 mins

" You need to respawn Cavern of Anger each time, which is done by portaling outside that entrance (which is at the end of Cavern of Wrath) and making new instances there each run. " Once sufficiently geared (and progressed) I would agree that Piety is better than Merveil. Seeing as how my gear is pretty bad, though, Merveil is the easiest and safest choice. " The unique pool (plus map-drop potential) are far better with Piety than with Merveil. Merveil is more of a stepping-stone farm location, for those of us who don't have the gear to farm Piety. However, if you can stack way more IIR/IIQ against Merveil than against Piety, it might be worth trying. You can still get very good uniques from Merveil, plus she's twice as fast to kill, so you might get more alts out of Merveil as well.
