Hey man, big fan of the build but I'm curious as to why you use sword over dagger/claw?

Well one of the reasons is just because I love swords :P

Otherwise its just because we're not going crit so using claws/daggers seems like a waste in this case, so the only rt option that makes sense is swords and I like rt melee builds

What are u thinking about Physical to Lightning ? I got some WeD on my gear and now its better than added fire.

How do u kill bosses like mervail ? I rly have a hard time with spell dmg. The block chance is so low that you cant really go for spell block and your hp isnt insane either .

Physical to lighting is nice for damage I'd assume if you can get some good elemental conversion going but its gonna hurt your ability to leech in general since you'll be lowering your physical damage by alot with using the gem, so you'd probably have to go blood magic possibly and hope your remaining physical damage is enough to leech anything at all if you're not gonna use life leech gem.

Jewels exist now to help with hp if you wanna use them, I just don't since the tree is a guideline. So if you want more block there is some available to then use for spell block conversion.

I'm comfortable with the amount of hp I have in game with builds like this, since its pretty possible to have 6k+ hp by level 80 if you have the right kind of gear. But for me I've never really felt like I've needed a build with 7-8k life just to deal with end game content.

In the case of bosses I'd just use sapphire flasks and such or forms of +max cold resistance if youre not gonna go for spell block and arent comfortable just trying to survive the fight through skill alone.

So I've been using this build as my first character (playing on warbands league softcore) and it's working well so far. The only problems I'm really running into are bosses. Do you have any tips for dealing with bosses that just hit really hard or do I just need to learn how to play?

Does resolute technique provide a dps boost since this build doesn't focus on crit or is it used for a different reason?

Also, have you tried using a vaal reave gem in this build? The AOE radius of reave without it seems a little low without something modifying it. Maybe I should use a jewel?

For bosses with high physical damage you can use endurance charges with granite flasks to help against dealing with larger hits, as well as immortal call which will consume endurance charges to give you a few seconds of physical damage immunity.

As for spell damage just use flasks pertaining to that element that will help with giving you +max resistance or you can use spellblock or auras that give higher resistance to that type of damage.

Resolute technique is picked up because it gives you 100% chance to hit while never being able to crit, but since we dont focus on crit it benefits us to grab it.

Vaal Reave gem is a good way of maintaining the aoe and I dont see any reason not to use it, its just not listed in my guide really since I never got around to sticking it in there.
So in your skill tree you are not investing skill points in jewel slots. is there a reason why or did you just not find any good jewels to put in ?
Atm, there is NO point not taking jews that are 2 slots away when you have your cornerstones. These just give more with 3 affixes than what you spent. Also there is a pathing error near ranger. where you can save a point. And I tend to like sword + attack speed nodes near ranger too, and still below ranger, there is a major life leech node that increases max leech rate.(rly helps with great gear, tons of hp/secs in fight, great on big bosses)

btw is resolute technique even necessary? you have so much dexterity and alot of + accuarcy nodes that resolute technique seems kinda useless to me. you could rather improve the pathing on the Marauder side and grab that jewel socket there(i took the jewel socket close to duelist but it doesnt make an diffrence).

these are the changes i made

i took out alot of those small points which seem not that valueable to me and therefore i got some more life leech and some other defensive stats. and even a jewel socket. If you really dont want the jewel and rather spend the 2 points somewhere else its ok, but i personally like the mechanic and the flexability jewels have to offer.

The only reason there are no jewels taken in this tree is because I set it up as a guideline, as if you didnt have any jewels or such. If you wanna make adjustments as you find better gear you can. As for the max leech rate, I dont have enough experience with 2.0 to say its worth it or not, but if theres a pathing efficiency issue towards the ranger side I dont really see it.

This is just a general guideline tree, so if you actually find gems and such that to you warrant not taking other passives then feel free to do so.
