Why is the taming so damn expensive?

btw, searching indexer for rings just with 30% weapon ele and a total of 84 resists in default, you can only find a select few that are comparable or better to the taming, and they cost dozens of exalts as well or are mirrored copies that aren't for sale and in the "my gear" section. nobody is claiming that the taming is better than a perfectly rolled rare...it's still EXTREMELY good for any attacking build that uses all 3 elements and worth a ton, it's also very unlikely to get anything better in a 4 month league, even default doesn't have many that compare

Rare rings can roll WED, Flat Lightning, Life, All Res, , AS, Chaos Res. All on the same ring.

The extra damage and all that might look fancy on paper, but its not THAT amazing a ring. At best, its very helpful for RT Lightning Arrow characters - which is why they usually pack a pair of them.

Other varieties of elemental builds may not necessarily benefit as much from it as they would a very good pair of rare rings. Not easy to find said combination - hence the obvious want for The Taming.

Well, the good part of the ring doest even add tooltip(paper) dps.

AS has a lot of diminishing return past 6 APS.

I play an RT ST one hander, and no rings with 3 flat elemental rolls do more eDPS then the taming if you run flat dmg auras.

All resist is capped, why would you want a ring to roll them if you are already overcapped?

The only thing that you are missing is life, trading for a lot of eDPS.

Well maybe i like it so much cause its perfect for my build, but i see your point that other builds may get it better rolling a rare ring, gl rolling all that you said with less then 90 ex tho.

For my build the taming does A LOT more eDPS then that ring, Wrath gives me nearly 1-600 lightning, that ring is like 10% of the flat dps of the auras, and 2 the taming gives me 80% cause 3 shocks + 1 burning, besides the ele dmg.

Im not even counting anger in there...

Maybe you should test a the taming, and check you eDPS(effective dps != paper dps bro)

Unless your dps is very low, the added damage from shock and the additional shock chance is nearly worthless because enemies that can be shocked die so fast it does not even matter.

*10% increased damage per Freeze, Shock and Ignite on enemy

compares with 56 freaking elemental damage.

This is the epitome of overpriced over hyped items based on nothing but assumptions and novelty.

Now u r not making sense, the less dps u have, the better is flat dmg from your ring, and worst is the Taming... well, keep you crappy rare, im gone from this thread, u dont wanna make sense, u just want to believe that the taming sux cause u cant have it. bye
