Your gear and tree is fine. Get Heart of the Oak, getting stunned can be fatal in maps so that will help you.
Your dagger is nice. Only thing you should replace is your jewelry, your rings aren't amazing. Carnage heart is alright but the lower life can hurt at end game, if you get a leech/crit/hp amulet then you'll feel much stronger in maps. 2-3% life leech is all you need to hit the life leech cap.

Sure. This was my first build in Domination, then I remade it in Nemesis as my first HC build there. Pretty much all my Dom gear is self found/crafted.
For leveling, try and pick up a Crest of Perandus and a Mightflay dagger, they're pretty hard to get hold of in the first week but will make leveling a lot easier. You may want to level with Double Strike/Melee Splash until you get a Multistrike for Reave.
Then at end game don't go over 400% crit multi so that you're safe vs reflect.
If I was to remake this character I'd get a Lightning Coil chest and use Purity of Lightning, that combo is crazy over powered and I'll probably use it on every character I can in the new HC leagues.

Okay thanks man I'll try this in the new HC league I'll be playing non-stop the first week or so I can't really get Crest or Mightflay easily but hopefully it will still work well

I was pondering the use of Lightning coil also for this build. With lvl 15 reduced mana the percentages reserved for Hatred, Tempest Shield and Purity of Lightning would total 95%. Would you drop Tempest Shield for this? or maybe wait until you had a lvl 20 Reduced Mana(88.75%)? Another possibility would be to take some reduced mana nodes maybe? But as you said this build is point starved.

Yeah you would need some aura nodes to run all three, the build can change a little to pick up the nodes but it's a question of what do you drop? DPS or Block?
I would probably just drop Tempest Shield and get the 5% reduced aura node in the Witch/Shadow tree. You'll be around 66% block but the crazy chest makes up for it.
i will be using this guide when the new leagues go up in the patch, i do have a ranged player so i would like to play something different that is semi affordable , really enjoyed reading your guide

I know that you are geared dagger, I'd have an opinion I want to build a storage tank absolutely, I prick in your own original idea of direct duelist with a sword for me, can I have an opinion if my build just be viable?
