[1.2.x] Oos' Crit Dagger Capped Block Ranger (Reave / Flicker / Double Strike) Acrobatics or IR
How viable is Aegis Aurora/BoR for Acrobatics version of the build?

" I'd say not very because BoR is hybrid armour/evasion. So is like wearing a helmet and chest at 50% efficiency. Also you can't use a Lightning Coil to mitigate those extremely large hits that get through block, evasion and dodge etc. |

Have started levelling this build, easily powerering through things. Just a quick question
Having not enough to get a 6L, Would a Bringer of Rain or would a 5L Carcass Jack be better to use for Reave? I assume since using a Bringer of Rain you'd lose the CoDT defences and Carcass Jack adds the Area damage so I'm not sure whether to just use my BoR when I'm high enough or buy a 5L Carcass. " I think BoR will be the better choice until you can get a 6L, CJ 5L wont be as effective since you cant use Conc. Effect on it With BoR, you'll gain: Endurance charges on block -> longer Immortal Call duration If your not using IC, then you will always have 3 or 4 Endurance Charges up all the time Free blind -> nothing can really hit you You will only need to aim for hp/res on other parts and 30k dps which is easily to archive with BoR and this build |

" Ah yes I had forgotten about the Endurance Charge on Block, I had gotten the BoR originally for my Summoner, Thanks! IGN shdowe

I think I made a mistake trying to do Aegis with this build. Current level 69. My build alterations can be found here;

I can easily die to burst damage. The 1600es is nice with Aegis, but I believe the original build with BOR may b even more survivable, as it would have more life + more block + blind from BOR + more armor. Really disappointing. Will probably give it another 5-10 levels to see if more life and ES help. |

" Thats pretty high ES and I think that is also the problem Remember that each block recover 4% ES based on ur Armor. I believe ppl with BoR will have around 4k armor. Then you'll have 4000*4% = 160 ES per block In case your ES dropped to 0, then you have to block 10 times to get it to full again. And since the burst damage usually slow and bursty (of course) then you'll die to it :) I tested and found that to have around 4k+ life and 400+ ES seems to be the most viable number (keep in mind that some of the tankiest life-base only has around 800ES with 8k life and shit load of armor) I have 4k2 life and 390ES and Im still being able to afk-tank many things with my ES at full - tested many possibilities myself Last edited by koros#0896 on Feb 26, 2014, 3:01:13 PM

" Your ES is maybe slightly too high (depends on your armour though), and your life too low. Go back to pages 23-24, there was some good Aegis discussion there and a couple of skill trees. I cant comment much on Aegis but a few other people have tried it, so their posts will be useful to you. Aegis can be hard to make work properly, but it completely broken when you nail it :) IGN: @Oos

Hey Oos,
What do you think about this tree of mine? I plan on using it after reset Gears:
Spoiler
Tree: As you can see, with this tree and no longer using BoR, I'll only have 52% block chance with Aegis Aurora, but I want to focus more on dps, that should be the trade off, i think Im using Lightning Coil and most of my gears are Armor type, so I spec out of IR Currently using Perandus and the old Aegis tree cuz im still waiting for reset Last edited by koros#0896 on Feb 27, 2014, 3:20:07 AM

" Yeah looking good, Lightning Coil is a crazy chest. Do you have enough Armour/ES/Block to maker Aegis worth it? IGN: @Oos
