Lower mana scaling sounds good, traditional aoe not so much. Why convert one of the few interesting aoe mechanics into yet another colored generic damage radius?

Seeing the guy on the pier reminded me of the times waiting
on the (transport) boats in Everquest. Early days everyone
be fishing, casting/practicing spells, and swapping languages.

Then there's "Fate", template for the Torchlight's, and the
Torchlight series.

one more suggestion, it obviously doesn't fit into this type of game but as you obviously prefer nz types of animals i would like have a sheep. just the normal typ of harmles animal of course but upgradeable to something more deadly and vicious although i can imagine this to be a difficult task so that it doesn't look too ridiculous.

Sorry, I have been away for a long time, can someone update me on when this patch is coming?

What are you talking about? There was never any such feature in WoW. I think you need to re-read what I typed.

The pets would NOT be able to fight along side you, the only purpose leveling, gearing, and skill-building would serve is to make your pet more powerful vs other pets in a special "Cock Fight Arena" for bragging rights only.

Of course different pet types would have different skill trees and special abilities, etc... Could be really fun. :)

How about making the pet fight when their respective owner fight each other? It would make sense in that since pet follows you, it basically mimics your actions (of course, it can only interact with other pets).

That would look similar to the The Golden Compass movie
