This is a great feature. It depends on how you want to sell them now I guess. I would pay no more than $1 to add this to an existing tab if you were to sell them individually ( I would only purchase 5 or so and have the tabs in-between the named tabs store similar items). If you sold it as an account bound upgrade I would pay $10 this doubles your money.

+1 I agree!

I love the idea, but on an account and not a tab basis. Though paying to add it to 4 or 5 tabs in a bundle at once might not be so bad.

The naming of tabs really should be an automatic feature. People are already buying tuns of tabs to begin with, tacking on addition charges for a basic feature like that is a little greedy in my book. The more things move along, the more I disagree with the "ethical micro-transactions" claim.

I agree with this. I like the micro-transaction regarding cosmetic things like extra gore, glowing effects and colours, mini pets etc. But not baisc game mechanics like a good working stash.

Its quite basic and useful and should not be part of the cosmetic things. Its like buying an option for "You can now sell and buy items in the same screen at vendors!".

Other then that, love you GGG <3.

TBH I can't see myself paying for premium tabs on an individual basis. I would like to get an idea of pricing too. I have to admit that I am quite skeptical about whether GGG can generate much cash from things like this.

Isnt that what people said about RIOT's business model for LoL? I wonder how many skins have been purchased now...
The game is already fantastic and I fully believe MANY people will pay for these features. GGG is going to be very successful with this.
My 2 cents:

I don't think that these premium stash tabs are at all necessary to enjoy and/or excel in PoE, unlike the hotbars in SWTOR, which can drastically affect how well you perform in combat. There is a big difference, and these stash tabs are truly the epitome of a convenience item. GGG can price them however they want and it won't affect my enjoyment of the game.

That being said, I do think that it would be in GGG's best interest to offer a "complete account unlock" option. From a marketing standpoint, you never want to encourage the sale of one item at the expense of another. I worry that people might avoid buying an additional stash tab if they know they will have to spend even more money to bring the tab's features in-line with their currently existing premium tabs.

For example, if I have ten colored and labeled tabs (which means I'm a bit on the anal-retentive side), buying an extra tab will necessarily mean the additional expense of buying premium features...otherwise my orderly tabs are going to be all out of whack. This now indirectly increases the cost of all extra stash tabs in my mind, and makes the decision to purchase them all that more weighty. I can no longer buy a stash tab for $3, it costs ME $5.

A great example of this issue is what's happening in GW2's cash shop. They sell cosmetic outfits, but require you to store them in your in-game inventory or bank. A lot of people who'd otherwise be collecting different outfits simply forgo purchasing them because they don't have the space to store them, and buying extra inventory slots is out of the question. Most Asian f2p MMOs are wise to this issue, and utilize special "cash shop" only storage slots that are separate from in-game inventory. This allows the customer to make the decision to purchase the cosmetic item free of any other financial considerations.

My suggestion would be to allow for both purchasing options. Single tab purchases and an account-wide unlock. The account-wide unlock can be priced somewhere that's the equivalent of buying 10 or so tabs a la cart, or wherever else GGGs metric data suggests it should be priced. That way you don't discourage either type of customer; the one who only wants to spend enough to unlock a few extra tabs, and the one who wants a tab for everything.

Love the Premium Stash Tabs! I know where I'm spending some of my extra cash! Not sure I like the thought of them being per tab, though. Guess it depends on the pricing.

I was specifically talking about the named/coloured tabs apparently being paid for on an individual tab basis. Is that really what people are excited about in terms of microtransactions? I don't mean to be negative but for me the video wasn't anything to get hyped about. I would have been stoked had they shown us some concept art for spells & other eye candy we might see but we haven't seen any of that at all, even a flash of the extra gore would have been awesome.

Don't get me wrong, coloured tabs aren't a bad thing, I was just hoping for something a little more exciting I guess.

Spoiler
Yay, finaly something to use cash on ;)

Would be cool if we could ad a small image of a sword instead of the text.
This could just be a standard image of a sword, armor and so on..
With a wall of text you may end up with only room for 3 or 4 and you have to flip around to find the next stash buttons...

Normal stash tabs are $3 each so the fancier ones will be double that or more.

they most likely will be available as an upgrade to existent tabs because most players like me who bought tabs will not buy additional ones having the new features.
i could think of a general option to rename all your tabs for 70 points and a feature to open one 1 tab of your choice for public trading for 30 points.

Then there are the hundreds(eventually) cosmetic items that will be available. Other companies call "micro-transactions" anything that ranges from $1 for single items to $100+ packages.

hope that there are more to come (MORE GORE PLEASE) but i can hardly imagine spending 100$ for a single cosmetic item. you have any examples from other games?

I don't like this at all. It should be included in the basic game.

I have no problem paying to add tabs but paying again to give them full functionality and convenience is just taking the piss.

You guys said you'd be monetizing cosmetic items, not forcing people to pay to have optimum convenience in inventory management.

At best, I'd begrudgingly pay a small one-time fee to enable this functionality but the idea of charging per tab just reeks of seedy nickle-and-diming.

You'll get great feedback from the majority of the beta testers but I don't expect this to go down well with the public at large.

I asked a few months ago if you could implement colored backgrounds for item rarity to make inventory management easier. Chris agreed that it would be implemented but not any time soon, which was fair enough... Now I'm wondering if you're gonna charge us for that functionality too?

When you plan your monetization I'm sure you're aware you tread a very thin line between having your customers feel like they're playing the game and making them feel like they're being played. This goes too far into the latter territory for my tastes.
