What possible reason could you have for not opening up Act 3 to closed beta testers before open beta, even if it's only for a week or two?

excellent news :) it gives me a definitive date to tell my friends about the game.
before it was like... uhm... when is it coming out? i'm like uhm... soon? :D then it was like soon as in duke nukem forever soon? (took 10 years) end of nations soon? (postponed indefinitely, pre-purchase refunded) jumpgate evolution soon? (project canceled) or... actual soon? (within the next 2 years) i'm like ... I really donno :( developers need to realize that the term Soon(TM) has been abused by other development houses that it's actually bad news to receive a simple "Soon(TM)" and is a major turn off to players. the usage of the term "Soon" is something that can only be earned through trust in the gaming world these days. and even then, there is a negative connotation associated with the term. |

Awesome news, happy to wait another month if it's for the benefit of the game and therefore the community. Might load a new character to play around with for a few weeks as all my toons are now legacy.
