Is there some way to procedurally check if your character/account's drop table is screwy?

It does not even need to be that complicated.

Just one place that will consistently drop X unless you account is borked by a false positive.

Then the botters get a very easy way to test what gets them nerfed, and what they need to do to avoid it. It also lets them know when to drop accounts and move on to new ones.
I get around 25 rare item + 0/3 uniques per Piety kill and they are systematically 100 % junk.
Maybe I am flagged as botter :D

You aren't wrong, but I would point out that chris's telling of it included no false positives.

None, nada, zilch. That just doesn't happen. Not on any sort of meaningfully scaled test.

Somebody in this thread brought up the fact that participation may factor into drops, along with other factors that may or may not have been clearly explained anywhere I've seen. I've asked in multiple forums and have yet to get a comprehend answer.

I see nothing wrong with it really. While it's always good to question the tools our leaders have, it is better when those that are in power admit they have such power, than when they use it from the shadows.
A scion may be born of the rich, and as such hold more opportunity...
but a scion will never be able to appreciate the finer beauty of those less fortunate.

That's simply not true, it's not what he said at all. Not "none", not "nada", and not "zilch". He said they are extremely rare, and that seems entirely plausible.

Fair enough. I'm relatively certain that I may be falling into the first group, but then... what the heck happened to my drops between open beta and the new leagues?

I mean... its enough of a change to be very noticeable and is exacerbated by participating in a party. So, I'm getting bad drops when I solo and worse drops when I party, so what... am I just not supposed to play at all?

You can elaborate on this further by splitting it into 2 or 3 possible resolutions :

1 ) My account was erroneously flagged and this gets resolved and I have to relevel my character. (I was planning on releveling anyway. Its really difficult to find the gear I need. so leveling a different character would probably be the best outcome)

2 ) My account was not flagged at all and the drops in the new league just suck unless you design your character around certain game design antipatterns which may or may not be working correctly or intuitively.

3 ) They review my account and say that it was not flagged in error and then I email them back and ask them to help me resolve the issue and never hear from them again. (Not a jab, just my experience with online gaming in general.)

If you were flagged for botting incorrectly I think GGG should drop a few chaos orbs and uniques in your stash because that is really, really bad managment on their part.

I could understand if your account was suspended for an hour or even a day while they investigate but to just fuck with you by removing the loot from the game, and not even tell you how that you are suspect or how to appeal is treating you like shit.

Actually fuck the orb compensation if GGG did that to MY account. I would quit the game, contact a RMT site and offer to give them all my currency for free.

I mean... are you sure that my drops aren't just sucking because my drops suck?

People getting flagged for botting were experiencing zero currency drops.
If you get only occasionally currency, you just have bad luck.

Edit:
But maybe they needed to change their approach after Chris announced their methods.

I still think it was a bad idea of him to talk openly about it,
the amount of false claims support will need to check now will be ridiculous,
despite botter likely trying the same, now.

That's a horrible way to deal with botters, and it is only going to lead to major headaches for them down the road now that the word of this is out.

1. Players are going to believe they have been flagged, because 99.9% of MMO players have persecution complexes and victim mentalities. This will result in a ridiculous CS nightmare and backlog.

2. Players are going to suspect someone else of having their drop rates upped based on amount of money spent, favoritism towards certain guilds, or a million other paranoid delusions that MMO players generally have (see number one).

What a can of worms this is going to turn into, I don't envy them at the moment.
