Cant wait for Act 3 :)
That interview link crashes my Chrome every time I click it, so I had to suffer the indignity of opening it in IE. Other than that, its a good interview, and it looks like that site already has a bunch of content promoting PoE.

GON: Do other players just teleport into your instance?

Chris: Yes. There are towns which are shared, but everything else is privately instanced. This enables us to do a lot of random generation, so if you walk out of town with a friend or even alone, you get an area which is unique to you. It hasn’t been seen by anyone before. This means that whenever you play through the game it’s different each time. I mean, not completely different — if you’re in a swamp, you’ll probably still be a swamp next time. But the layout of where things are, what monsters there are, will be different.

I love how you said yes, but you actually meant no.

There are 120 players currently stating otherwise. One of which I can recall hitting the L70 mark in less than 72 hours after reset.

Personally, I wish GGG would reconsider their stance on raising the level cap. There is never anything wrong with giving new goals to work towards, regardless of those who would suddenly feel their previous effort was a waste.

The same activity does not retain it's fun factor very long without introducing something new. New gear to improve upon our current, new skills to provide a new challenge in build theory, more grind to fill more time. None of this is really a bad thing when you look at longevity.

Granted, I know this pace of leveling will change with the introduction of Act 3 and a new wipe. So please take this view with a grain of salt, so to speak. But I do think it warrants a bit more thought.

However, as far as gear and such goes...the need to constantly improve your character should always be there, as a need, not as an option.

So many pride themselves as a "hardcore" or "elite" player. Personally, if you are not willing to commit time and time again to a new challenge without complaint, you're just another nub.

It's worth noting that the balance you're playing under has four difficulties, no act three and different map levels to the one we're working on.

Having said that, the numbers probably should be 85 = long time, 90 = insanely high, 95 = years of the player's life spent.

My play time has been incredibly lax since the migration. Not because I didnt agree with it, I was actually happy to see it. My work schedule just hasnt allowed for it.

However, after reading the article, I have one of our employee to the warehouse to bring me a very special pallet in preparation of OB.

On my last development adventure, we had 12 pallets of custom label energy drinks produced as a promotional item. We still have an entire pallet left since the flop of that adventure.

It will now serve it's purpose here.

As stated, I knew of the coming changes, and that the pace would be slowed with those changes. That portion of my post was more of an observation of current scenarios (admittedly much less relevant when referring to an article centered on OB and beyond).

Knowing this, and the fact that I stated I knew this yet continued to waste space on the matter anyway really makes me want to say thank you for taking the time to respond on the subject of the numbers at the least.
