everyone can have the same name just instead of adding characters to your friends list add accounts and the people can have the same character name just linked to different accounts
EXAMPLE : DEV(Parv3y09) EXAMPLE : DEV(NDP123) same name different accounts so when I go to add someone it locate their account name then when they log in it will say (parv3y09)LOGGED IN AS: DEV (NDP123) LOGGED IN AS: DEV |

Parv, your idea works theoretically, but there's also joy in having exclusivity of a name.

Of course you can add numbers:
Random_XIV :-D Exit, pursued by a Plummeting Ursa.

You can always make a name out of how you play or something personal. For example, Chthonian_Plumber plays lighning tendrils, Last_Flaym plays ignite and PoweredByMFcorp is a trading character.

Either that or your forum pseudonym. That leaves you open to quite some number of attacks, though.
