Character Names: The Good ones are taken
" maybe level 70+ :) because lvl 1 to 70 is 1 day :) lvl 1-2-50 does not mean anything :P |

" are you kidding me?lv 70 requires to pass through all acts three times gear up nicely and/or have some skill, i got just single exactly lv 70 character and rest are below it,maybei m just not grinder kind of guy or maybe youre too harsh, thats like wiping everyone, sheesh all ames would be free and alpha/beta testers would have nothing to show off. only lv 1 wipe is completelly fair as it would free up thousands of unused names for their new owners but would allow rarely playing veterans or just inactive guys that atleast played a bit in distant past to sometime return and find their characters unchanged and not renamed to some crap name with RMT sites characters got. P.S just because you came later than us doesn't mean you got right to get extra fancy 1 word names or some commonly used 2 word combo,3 letter names and you know..simmilar stuff, they were suppossed to be limited edition. Hi
It is true I got me some awesome names when I joined CB but I do play them and when I get bored erase them and remake them quickly to keep the name:) What this game needs is a RNG...lol not that kind of RNG I am suggesting this RNG(Random Name Generator). Be nice if I can't think of a name that it would generate one and if I don't like it click it again. cheers Conan: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Never dance with the Devil because a dance with the Devil could last you forever... -I thought what I'd do was,I'd Pretend I was one of those deaf mutes- Nullus Anxietas:) Last edited by Finkenstein#5181 on Oct 10, 2013, 2:21:04 PM

Thank you GGG,
I think its kinda shitty people feel like there entitled to have a bunch of mules never getting used so "they might" get played someday.. I know people who sit on 10+ good names, just because. I cant wait for the particular name I really .. really want is gone from some dudes level 1 char that just sits there and never gets played. Come to think of it the dude hasnt logged on in months either :/ So GGG is my only hope "Ultimately, I confess I still don't get the appeal of dungeon crawlers.
Seems like I could recreate the essential experience by opening Microsoft Excel, scrolling down ten thousand pages with the down cursor key, and then typing "The Most Splendid Trousers of Them All!" -Yahtzee |

" Thank goodness. Every name is taken, and yes, it's usually by a level 1 witch (bots squatting on names for later?) |

" Yes you are right , to be lvl 70 we need to finish all acts and maybe do a little grindings and yes I know its hard sometimes :)However in most other games we can have only 1-4 characters and we cant improve that number here we can :) GGG gives us that feature for a small donation. But I think they wants to give us freedom to test a lot of characters without deleting current ones. I think they didnt give that freedom us to reserve all good names :) but encourage us to test some other builds :) . And lvl 1 or 2 or 50 does not mean we are trying some new build, most of the builds start showing themselves after 70+ or even 80-85+. If you ask me keep lvl 1 characters without even playing , testing something is stealing from other players...I think we should use our freedom as behind the idea they are giving us :) to testing and enjoying the game but not to steal newcomers chance to get good names :)... Is the name really that good if it's already taken?

Alot of this problem could be fixed by not using the "no space" formatting every game in the world uses, hell make it a underscore in the filename but have the game render underscores as blank spaces, how hard is that? then you can also space your names correctly as i am OCD as hell about this as well, hey if you wana play a char named alex88767w thats your call i cannot.
I also would support some kind of cosmetic name type thing, maybe some kind of override, dont know how it would work but could be something. |

some ideas and replies on read thoughts:
-adding accounts to the charnames: bad - Just imagine 50-chars long names in chat... (25 for the char and 25 for the account...) this is simply not acceptable (guild-tag on top, not counted yet) -using account name only: bad - I play with friend "X" but what of his chars is he using right now? -allowing multiple same char names: bad - too much confusion for any social related interaction between chars. But could be probably acceptable (if the system is able to handle) if there's a way to identify each char exactly when needed (as in chat/trades/friedlist...) This can probably be by tag or additional information about the accountname... -grab char names from unused accounts: maybe - but deleting chars completely I'd seen as unacceptable. (there must be an option to set a new name for such a char. Or give them an auto-generated random name, with the ability to change it) -(re)naming should not be an issue for a mule char/account -name reservation should be at least as long as the temporary leagues (so, actually 4 month or longer) Or, make a announced "cleanup" 1 or two weeks before a new season starts. -active accounts should never be touched -allowing more character variation (special chars, blanks, numbers) could distress the name selection, but (especially the numbers) would also reduce the uniqueness of naming (one reason I expect for having them not available yet). Numbers would be nice to name chars in the (numbered!) race events - but these chars would also transfer the naming issue to the other leagues at race ends... invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

soon there will be guilds after which you can add it to your char name for better identification and recognition of your guild.
renaming your char could be offered as a microtransaction. although i would never use it as i always find good names. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
