Official Path of Exile Release Trailer

Well, this video dosent fullfill my expections ... it looks like a cut-together of many known ingame fighting scenes'. Nothing really new o.0

I wasn't a big fan of the trailer, if I didn't already enjoy the game that trailer wouldn't make me interested. It also doesn't show anything of what makes PoE stand out from the other ARPGs - and relying on in game footage (while honest) isn't going to stand up very well against the competition. Lastly, the pose of the girl with the long blond hair at the end did remind me of a Facebook F2P add.

Just my honest opinion.

When I first started watching it and the.. new class was talking, and it then cut to the Templar, I assumed the Templar would then speak and say why he was there and so on through all of the classes. I think that would have been a much better route, and while that was going on, showing the gem system/mentioning the 'crafting' system/mentioning the leagues - should have been played.

My 2 cents.

Okay first off, yes I don't like to or have not used the forums since I started playing, but will now continue to when I can.


I Loved the trailer, sure it didn't need to be a default blonde chick, but still the trailer itself isn't something that can't be fixed.

I don't see much reason to fix it, though when I saw the trailer I didn't think she was the PoE poster girl even if most got the idea that the girl in the trailer was.


On the other hand I've been wondering as to myself, in order to keep myself playing, if there are any posts on if we will be getting any wipes of character stuff or not and the rumors of this game becoming steam only or both steam client?

I'm new here and I don't usually take the time out of the little gaming experience I get to jump on the forums and look around for something that specific.


Not sure if anyone's talking about it already, but everyone else in the "global chat" says "No, the game will continue on when it's fully released and you'll still play normally."

Of course I figured before hand trolls were just running a muck in global when they were saying you'll lose everything, but I really wanted to clarify if we really ARE losing anything AND if the game will be on steam only or BOTH the regular client and steam.

Lol we have got to be one of the most hard to please and cynical gaming communities out there. I agree with the vast majority of the comments here that the trailer, while ok, was nothing spectacular. I think that if someone at GGG was to edit together the OB trailer with the new release trailer, then we would have something awesome.

Like in the OB trailer when Dominus is speaking to you (I'm guessing that was him), that literally sent chills up my spine. There was nothing like that in this one. Not to mention I thought the examples of the skill gems was really cool in the OB trailer.

No biggie though, I'm super stoked for release, and I think if people watch the interview video instead of the trailer, this game will see a surge of new and old-returning players.

This was the main reason for my disappointment about the trailer.

There are tons of horrible games that will bore you to death after 2 days of play. No dept, no player input for actually creating your character build, no well planned mechanics behind system.
And those shitty games cover up for their bad design by putting the copy-paste epic blonde in armor which is aimed to show cleavage rather than protecting.



PoE is a GREAT game. It has the best dept in terms of character build development and game mechanics. Also SO FAR it got a high note from many people for not making ranger and witch look like models on catwalk.

This new trailer and the booby Scion artworks are a big mistake, which will only make people think "Oh here is another shitty F2P game with boobs."
It really gives the feeling PoE is a game where you choose your class and start clicking on mobs with your predefined skill set. And after 30 lvls you will have the exact same character with every other lvl 30 player.

Even if attracts some people, those are not the type of people that will hang around for long. And the people who would hang around for long can be attracted very easily by something like that;

* Music from Vaal Oversoul Boss Combat
* Skill Tree fast forward building (like spending 70 points in 3 seconds), maybe a couple to show how big the skill tree actually is.
* Mentioning YOU define how the skill works by the linked gems (same skill supported with melee splash/ faster attacks / flee / blind VS increased damage / stun / bloodmagic etc)
* Then some ingame combat scenes with REALTIME SPEED to show that game is not as boring as it looks on current trailer.

This would get you the people who would stay here and be your fans.

Honestly, I've always thought PoE trailers do a fantastic job of making the game look worse than it is. Pretty much shows you none of its better features.
