Uh, no, we're acting like we don't want to play the same builds on the same class in every league. I've played a bow build and mage build too, desync is much less of an issue there because you're hardly doing anything.
Truth be told, any skill that involves moving you or the mobs can cause desync. Flame Totem + Projectile Weakness = desync. Ground Slam + Knockback = desync.

Really, we commend you on playing elemental cleave for 2+ years. We really do. We know how hard it is to roll the most common mods on all weapons and pick up all the life nodes. Takes a lot of talent.
Meanwhile for those of us who got bored of cookie cutter builds, desync lowers our available options more than the lack of usable skills.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.
I love how desync has been probably the number 1 complaint about the game since closed beta, yet there are still people out there that think it doesn't exist or is not as bad as it's made out to be. As stated previously, ranged attacks are not an issue. With melee it's a nightmare, and I've gotten it on pretty much any melee build I've ever played, and not just on the obvious leap slam/whirling blades.

I've recently made a glacial hammer templar, and half the time I'll be smacking mobs in the face only to do no damage, and after a ctrl + v of /oos it turns out I'm actually about 3 meters away from the mob. I stopped using Reave completely on my first Reave build as the desync was just horrible with it. Cyclone oddly enough has not given me that much issue. Also my main build, which is a Flicker Strike ranger probably has the best time with desync. Somehow I'll manage to non-stop flicker and either get no desync, or I'm just doing so much damage and moving so fast that the desync does not even matter. Leap Slam should be called Desync Slam.

Obviously the terrible desync issues in this game somehow does not affect all players as badly, and if you don't have issues with desync, you should consider yourself blessed by the Gods of Wraeclast instead of thinking that those of us who do suffer from it are just idiots with shit computers. I have an 18MB ATT Uverse connection and a machine with an SSD that can run any game out there at max settings with no issues. PoE is by far the worst running game I have currently.

And I'll continue to support GGG and play the shit out of this game despite this.
GGG actually added a skill that combats desync, that is fucking awesome.
Bullshit, you get the game for free.

You should mostly play on your own gateway. I play solo more than grouped. I am from US and can do EU just fine. Going to Singapore is of course going to cause issues. That is with any online game.networks aren't able to connect half way around the world the same as 200 miles away. Of course that 18,000 mile difference will cause issues.

Easier said than done, the vast majority of public groups though are US/Eur players. Meaning if I want to do any form of partying up, either I have to be careful with Desync, or I have to make a private party of Australian mates. Being in US and being able to do EU is no surprise, you'd have maybe like 150 ping? That's within acceptable range. Yes, going to Singapore though is what I'm getting at.

But no it's not with ANY online game, I have no idea where you got that idea from. I play MANY different online games, and ALL other ones have servers in the US (270-330 ping). Those games play just fine though? Although ping has different adverse affects on them, Guild Wars 2 for example, dodging is difficult, you need to pre-emptively dodge so by the time you're attacked the server knows your dodging. Really makes things difficult. But I don't magically stop doing damage and get teleported back several metres, or die.

To conclude, you mention you play Solo more than grouped. I'd be under the impression that you would be part of the minority. Considering the fact this game is designed around the Online experience and being MULTIPLAYER.

I don't play ele cleave. I use elemental hit with LMP using eldritch battery to run many auras. So no, I don't play a cookie cutter spec. Maybe you need to learn a better definition of viable. I can solo 72 maps no problem. Also, before you say lol standard scrub, this guy was in onslaught til lvl 74 and he is now 83. I died to my own doing.

Don't forget to take into consideration location. I for example live in Australia, and the lowest ping I can have is 80-90 (To singapore gateway). I desync very little when on a nearby gateway, and I play a Flicker Multi Build now so I can say I'm playing one of the most desyncable classes. But if I go play with anyone from the US, or Europe. I get 330/430 ping respectively. Making it literally impossible for me to play Flicker Build, that's my issue, so I play non-flicker when playing with US/Eur mates. But even just running around on a different build with 330/430 ping can easily cause desync, it's just mobs and my character placement are so out of sync at all times it just doesn't work.

So what are the pings you play with? (can be viewed by pressing F1 in-game). I'm assuming it's between 20-100? I'm not trying to target you or anything, I'm just saying the reason you may not see desync is because of your location. If you're in the US/Eur, change your Gateway to Australia, and play a FlickerStrike build then tell me Desync does not occur :D

more importantly...fyi there IS an australian gateway now. One of the things that made me go back to POE for a little while longer~~
Resync! The new melee escape skill :)
Looks like interesting ninja skill :)
