Do what I did. After 15 hours of download, my computer finished. My 3 roomates wanted to start downloading. I just copied "content.ggpk" from the updated computer on my external hard drive and then pasted it on the other computers. Took 5 minutes for the first 2 pc. My last roomate had decided to uninstall the game, he still had 17 mb to download, took him half an hour but still faster than downloading the whole patch.

Good idea. Don't know why I didn't think of that. I'll do that for the remaining systems needing updating.

Thanks!

Sounds like a very good patch, can't wait to test out Reave:) and also does the art size reductions(smaller/faster) come at any cost to graphics quality? and i cannot wait to see the surprises you guys must have in store for release :D it's sooooo exciting that it is so close now, great job guys!

I actually think the graphics look better when I was playing last night. Maybe because it runs smoother? I'm not sure but to me it looked better.

I personally downloaded the patch from the Reddit torrent which was WAAAAAAAAY faster. But then it turned out that I also had to download another small part from the normal launcher which was about 8.19 MB... I thought, sure, it's JUST 8 MB, it's just gonna take a few seconds!
...
The damned thing would NOT stay above 10+ KB/s for long, and then it would reset the download at random percentages... I was SO ticked off by that... I could've used a VPN apparently, but going through such a tedious and unnecessary process simply because the launcher couldn't download 8 measly MB? No, just no. I guess I got lucky and the download completed after some time without resetting.

Yeah I used the VPN trick last night however it only lasted a bit over their set 100MB free limit. Oddly enough after the VPN disconnected the speeds only dropped to around 2-300kbs.. still slow for my connection but much better than the 10-70kbs I was getting intially.

I'm sure they have plans down the pike to implement some kinds of background downloader or a p2p system.... or something other than what it is now after this debacle. I'm thinking along the lines of how Blizzard had the downloader for WoW back when I used to play that.

There are many options for distribution of large patches. Hopefully they put something in action to eliminate this in the future provided funding is there of course and resources.
any chance of having reave get the +2 to gems from Bronns Lithe ?

i want the 10 attack speed, and cyclone is the only good choice to put on this 5link...
i think cyclone is more a brute move.. marauder, or templar, ..
roleplaying-wise (im a ninja dual wield shadow) its cooler to use reave than cyclone...

... just a thought ...
And now that I've had a chance to play the new patch a bit, I have thoughts beyond just the download process...

Thank you GGG! This patch rocks! My computer was previously on the margins as far as system requirements go. This patch has:

(1) Completely eliminated what was a 1-2 minute wait when the launcher starts up for "allocating resources." That's huge. (2) Shortened the initial load screen by about 60% for me. 3) Shortened my load screens for entering new zones by about 40%. (4) Shortened my load screens for re-entering zones by about 90%. (5) Several skills/attacks that were causing me to have frame rates drop (slightly) before no longer do. I can spam poison arrows again!

Best. Patch. Ever. I no longer feel like I'm playing a game that my computer can just barely handle -- it now feels like a game I can handle with a bit to spare.
Very good improvements, i can run hte game with max settings flawless now :-) only got some fps drops when encountering a pack of blue mobs in lunaris, but not as bad as before :-)

Keep up the good work GGG!

I'm in US and the patcher is still very slow. I'm averaging around 100KB / sec.

yesterday it was dial up speeds.

Your CDN needs to level up a few times.

+1. I'd be upset at them if I was GGG. I know they can't anticipate *everything*, but surely this.

I don't know how it is for you guys right now, but I seem to be downloading at 500kbps, so the issue seems to be fixed at least for me.
...and it crapped out.
Took like 5,5 hours to download, but now my thing is showing that i downloaded 102%...que?
Worked... :3
