7 Mbps translates to about 800 KBps dl. Bits vs. Bites.

Someone touched on the issue of closing your client mid-dl and said that it restarts the dl from where you left off but the progress percentage is recalculated based on what you have left to dl. I tested this and found it to be true. Check the total dl size that is left and compare that to the 1.8g original patch size for confirmation.

After waiting for a maybe ten minutes on 'checking resources,' after having turned my download off for ten minutes, my download speed is definitely quicker, relatively speaking. Still going to take the remainder of the day and some (at my current speed) but, as people have already said, the more people that finish downloading the patch (those with faster broadband speeds presumably), the quicker it will be for all of us, so fingers crossed I'll be playing today.

I believe I was stuck downloading on one of the more saturated servers, I went and downloaded a program called PrivateTunnel (you can google it) and selected the UNITED KINGDOM - London server, I checked before and after on my ip address and made sure it changed, I then tried the client again and went from 20kbps to 1.2mbps / 2mbps..
