Yes it is, but remember if you go Witch and ES you will have to figure out:
- accuracy and DPS
- leech/ES regen
- aura
- stun

Stun used to be an issue but there is now Skyforth / Chayula Presence / Valyrium which helps a bit but the amulet/ring slot can be a good DPS slot so having to use Chayula/Valyrium would reduce your DPS.

I think overall DPS loss will be quite significant vs. Ranger since Witch will have bad accuracy (can't use Lycosidae since you will need to have an ES shield), and will need to take up some mana to run Discipline. You also will not be able to generate Frenzy charges reliably for the hard boss fights. All this will be big DPS losses.

You could try something with CoE and taking lots of spell damage on gear and tree but if you tie up helm with CoE and boots with Skyforth you will have to get pierce for LS projectiles on the tree, or play wiht no pierce.

Maybe a life Witch LS build would work better - but her starting area is soo bad to exit for life build.

Ranger ascendancies are just too good for this kind of build and I don't think Witch Elementalist can make up for all the above shortcomings. Yes it can work but I don't think it would work well.

First, thanks for awesome LS build man. I played your build back max block/dodge before it got nerfed. I'm currently lv73 and play around with aspect of the cat, linked Enlighten lv3 + Warth + HoT.
Should I just the enchantment helm or keep this setup?
Is my dagger good enough or should I get another one with WED? If yes, do have any suggestions which gems should I put in it?

Thanks bud, and thanks for playing my old build xD. If you like Aspect of Cat just keep your current setup, otherwise if you'd like more HP / LS enchant - you may need to get a rare. Your dagger is nice! Hmm, maybe you can customize and use 1 setup in your dagger for clearing and then put a 6L setup in your chest for single target - they can be LS setups or even mix different skills like LS in 1 setup and Molten Strike for the other.

Viability as a league starter? Thinking of doing this as my Flashback character (SC).

Hi bud, yes ofc you can use claw if you'd like. Dagger is better for more crit, but claws still work well.

Played this as a league starter in Beastiary and loved it.
Will play again in Incursion, looks like the new vaal LS will add some nice extra damage to the build.
Do you think the vaal LS will be usefull with the changes in the next patch?
