Critters and the upcoming Arctic Weapon Effect

I don't like the Arctic Weapon effect at all.

I and many others paid for the open beta supporter pack to have a glowing weapon that are far better looking than the cheaper effects and made it clear to players that you were a supporter.

This new effect has far to much glowing and is not fair on those of us whom paid for the supporter packs. This effect needs it glow effect reduced be to compared with the other "cheaper" effects.

Sure the supporter packs are to show your support for the development of the game, but a superior glowing weapon effect is part of the supporter package as a thank you for supporting and should always remain superior looking compared to regular micro transaction effects.

Us supporters should look better than everyone else as we paid for the privilege.

This new effect is an insult to those who showed there support with an supporter pack.

I feel like I did something wrong now by buying a supporter pack to well, support GGG. I don't even use the weapon effect, I use a different one that I bought.

Im not very good at game design sadly : ( . So im stuck making skill effects, environment effects and microtransactions.

Well then, let's hire more programmers other than people who work on micro-t's that are available for every single patch.

Best idea evah.

Programmers should cost about $80K/year (employment cost is > than salary...), so all they need you to do is to buy 8000mt points or 6 Ruler of Wraeclast packs and they'll get right on it.

<snipped thoughtless comments>
If they wanted to focus more on coding and produce less visual effects, they could easily hire a VFX guy part-time and another programmer part-time.

I understand you are delusional in your thinking and do not understand the costs associated with hiring new employees, or the time sink that is also involved with that, but I just wanted to poke my head in and say that if Russel got benched, even part time, I'd go on a POE strike and I'd make it my mission to take most of Wraeclast with me.

Yes, I'm sure the VFX artist is the person doing the balancing instead of the actual design/balance team... /facepalm

I see this answer all the time and it is just bullshit.

Yeah, the VFX guy cannot do coding. But that doesn't mean that the money that pay for the VFX guy couldnt pay for the coding.

I understand why GGG needs to focus on microtransactions since their business model depends on them but please, lets call a spade a spade.

If they wanted to focus more on coding and produce less visual effects, they could easily hire a VFX guy part-time and another programmer part-time.

So yeah, they do more microtransactions because they need to pay their costs, not because they couldnt easily shuffle capacities around.

I too am dissappointed by the patches lately. Everytime I read a Twitch section of patch notes I feel a little sad. Dont tell me the people working on Twitch integration couldnt work on game code.

Kickstart your own game and run it the way you thing is best.

The thing that's bullshit is people thinking that changes that are not what they asked for are worth bitching about. Face it, there ARE people out there who want an Arctic mtx. Just because you're not one of them doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.

Likewise, there ARE people who want Twitch integration.
There ARE people who want to play only physical melee.
There ARE people who want to play pure evasion.
There ARE people who want to play only CI / Lowlife RF builds.

No matter what you want, there will always be something else that you don't want. Stop bitching just because GGG's addressing someone else's needs at the moment and not yours. They've stated that they're addressing some very fundamental issues in parallel, but that should not stop them from meeting other needs and wants in the meantime.
