Unique Item List - 300 of 419

I wish we could get at least some normal uniques. High roll good mods on rares is so rare that i think some standard uniques would be helpful for mapping plus vastly easier to balance.

i actually hate every unique that doesnt add any gameplay mechanics because else they might aswell be called "guaranteed high roll rares" rather than unique which means NOT AS BLEND AS RARE ITEMS

the idea behind the amu is having a build that attacks really often and can therefore crit really often. you also add as much crit on your gear/passivetree as possible and voila: your build. however what you build might feel unique is the fact how you achieve those goals.
phyattacks? spells? you have many possibilitys. dual flametotem/spark totem? 10%+ crit wands with chain? chain icespears?
this amulet is REALLY nice for a magicfinder with icespear/crit/chain because you dont need to fill the entire screen with superlaggy sparks but you gain the ability to play alone! :D
(if the amu effect works on your totems. otherwise its shitty for totemusers lol)

anyway, i think the sword is much more of a issue in group play since you 1hit everything that burns. yeah thats it. it doesnt even say "your attacks....culling buring enemys" which is also a problem imo.
so how does this prevent you from using a flame totem with increased chance to ignite/chain/fastercasting and this weapon? especially if this works against bosses/uniques... :v
Regarding Marylene's Fallacy I've been thinking perhaps it's balanced around something not added to the game yet.

It manipulates your damage through your crit stats, so balancing it should be a purely mathemetical exercise. But its downsides scale harder than its upsides.

So maybe they're planning on adding some chance-to-crit-bypassing mechanic in some later patch. Maybe the new Phase Run will have an always-crit-when-attacking-from-stealth mechanic rather than the added physical it used to have. Or maybe something else less game breaking...

I don't know what I'm trying to say here. I just find it strange that the numbers are tuned as they are. Shavronne's Wrappings, Soul Taker, Crown of Eyes and similar "unique" uniques are hard to balance because they change fundemental mechanics and how those mechanics interact. But this amulet is pretty straight forward.

Cullling means "kill something with less than 10% life left on hit" so "Culling Strike against Burning Enemies" doesn't mean you kill something if you hit it while it's burning, it means you kill something if you hit it while it's burning and also has less than 10% life left.

It should work for spells but then Heartbreaker would probably be a better choice. Sorry if I misunderstood.


I have a question regarding that mod though:

It says "Burning" not "Ignited", so it should cull targets on hit if they are taking fire damage over time from things like Fire Trap, Rightious Fire and Searing Bond right? If someone who has the sword could verify that'd be great.
