who says that wraeclast is 1st-2nd century? I thought Wraeclast was fictional?


It fits the lore of the helmet to have a shoulder pad on the weapon arm

it also makes sense from a ""real world"" perspective because it would

A) protect the exposed shoulder
while
B) still allowing full range of motion
and
C) help to balance the gladiator with a heavy shield on the other arm.
