Add "/remaining" to Mapinfo top right.
" The current system is erroneous it seems, in that if there's really 50 enemies in an area, it's always going to say there's 20 roaming around when there's really 30 or 40+. It only calculates soon as there is less than 20 enemies only Someone replied to me saying it's for the sake of suspense only. I got it. It makes sense. When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails. Just because a game receives a great amount of praise vs. only a small amount of criticism does not mean to call it a day and make a foolish misplaced assumption that it is perfect. Yes and that is fully ok.
It doesn't let you predetermine how "big" the map could be and gives you just a hint that when you think "damn, sooo huge. Must be done" and still more than 20 mobs and boom you find another huge room. It's for the exploration type like me. That option is all in all a bonus. Think about that they normally wouldn't even DO that info. Also if they now would give in and say "Yes ok, we show you the exact ammount" the next one would complain, that the map shows WHERE it is and all in all we would end up in a ragefight that mobs should be shown totally on the map etc. The /remaining info on the map screen: YES. Totally. Everything else asked, like exact number/percentages -> no TwitchTV: http://www.twitch.tv/akumanotsubasa

" SO what you're getting at is it's just for the sake of suspense. Got it. P.S. I agree with the no percentages thing. GGG should only consider doing what the topic originally talks about via top-right corner information on 'Remaining' enemies. When game developers ignore the criticism that would improve their game, the game fails.

Make it a toggle-able option
/remaining on who like to keep seeing it. /remaining off for those who like suspense and like to stick to /remaining Pants are for nephalem, we are exiles, we do not need pants.

Not sure I would use a feature like this, personally. I tend to just go through and expose the entire map, killing anything that moves (and some things that don't get the chance to), and then when I've gibbed everything I've seen, I'll start using the slash command to see how much I've missed. By that time, I'm in no danger taking the time to type it out.
That said, having the option couldn't harm the game in any way I can think of, so I wouldn't be against it. The one question I would ask is this. Is it really worth the dev time to implement such a feature considering the fact that it is only really "needed" for a single challenge that currently exists only in 4 month leagues? Ultimately, I think that would be the larger consideration, taking a great deal of precedence over the question of usefulness. Of course, I've been wrong more times that I care to admit, too :) |
