IMHO, you're wrong: I see it as a fact, that you cant eliminate the dumbness of people that throw money into RMT; and as long as they can get this cash, theses offers will exist.

So lets look at the issue from the other side, from my side as a player:

- Imagine I loot some stuff, that may be a replacement for my actual gear, so I could sell the old one. Or a nice drop may not be an improvement for me, but miles better as another player actually uses: this stuff can (could) be sold to be a win/win for both of us... but this would need improvment to not be that much effort to me (especially for the one that tries to sell): effort to deal with pricefinding for the offer, to deal with unserious requests and other things going on in my thread, deal to (try to) meet the char that had made the deal... If you try to get some use of that trading, you have to invest so much time, that you get issues to proceed with farming and/or proceeding (generally called 'playing') the game... "normal" players with some goal(s) in game barely cant spend.

The more effort I have to invest in trading, the less time I have to spend H&S'ing

Its comparable to the situation with the name matching recipes: its possible with just pen and paper (or some 'electronic' note variant), but its terrfying inefficient to do this way. And like the recipe itself, its payout increases drastically with the aomunt you're able to invest.

the loot allocation system will still suck... ggg says they are all in for ninja looting, but they give in the scrub noobs and make loot allocation... bullshit

What better for a 'hardcore-cut throat-ninja looter' than a mode that is designed for and populated by, only those? Which is what FFA mode is.

Unless, of course, you are a 'plastic-hardcore-cut throat-ninja looter' who is butthurt that you will now be playing with and are up against real claimants of this tag.

Hmmmm?

more like "oh man, here at GGG we are all about hardcore players, and we love ninja looting. we do not care about playerbase, as long as it is the most hardcore playerbase"

THEN ON THE FORUMS:

"oh no plx me so bad at game me die all timez. free itens plx. game 2 hard. im only 14 years old and me scrub plx. all people take my itens. plx"

pussying out the game GGG... you give into the pussys

It sounds cool but I don't think the current IA is good enough for this kind of stuff.

Your core design, puzzles me, Chris. Your further development of that design, worries me, Chris.

I've spent much of six years arguing that trading should not be easy. I still believe that. The way we're making trade easier is not the way you're probably thinking.

I'm not asking for AH or anything like that in my original response. But right now trading feels like fumbling in the dark. I get where you're coming from and I probably agree with you on most things regarding trading, 1-click-buying would have massive implications, I get it.

But a small thing like a checkbox in trade forum to "only show threads with online OPs" or some kind of transparency in the trade chat would probably be enough. In D2 trading was a spam-fest, but you could see how many were in the same chat at least.

Notice board could function as D2 games list if you could link 1 or 2 items in the game name or something similar.

I know you guys thought of all of this and I'm confident you'll find a balanced solution.

Trading is a big part of the end game in ARPGs to me. People didn't come back to Diablo 2 for years to do their ten thousand and one baal run. It was for items, and trading them. Economy is end game, baal runs were a means to that end.
probably a mode where the devs or mods hunt us down, they did say it wasnt another "player" heh

Dead Hardcore characters haunting other players' games. This is freaking awesome.
My little tribute to Diablo 1 aka why Diablo 3 is the worst part of the series.

dev controlling a character in game = playing. = = = player.
